I bought a necklace whilst on my travels and the lady who sold it was saying that it is lucky and protects you from evil. Now, usually, I never believe anything of the sort and I'm not religious and I don't hold any beliefs, however, this necklace has become very special to me. I like it, it looks unisex and it's comfortable. I feel a duty to wear it, and if I don't wear it I feel exposed. This is a totally new feeling to me. I trust this necklace and wearing it makes me feel protected. I feel like it has a power that is protecting me. It's comforting. The only time I take it off is when I shower but I've began to wear it all the time. I've suddenly felt like I believe but I'm not sure what I believe in.
Keep wearing it. If your minds feels more secure with it then your subconscious will help you avoid some of the bad things that can happen (maybe a little bit less bumps and bruises)

This.
Somewhere in your Being there's a part that is saying, "we like this necklace, it makes us feel good." It is worth wearing just for that alone, and if there are side bennies with that...double the twice goodness!
I'm with everybody saying if it makes you feel better, do it....
but I'd also spend a lot of time thinking about why. why does it make you feel better? If your rational mind tells you you're not superstitious, but some other part of you still feels protected by this charm, give it some serious thought. I had an experience like this once, and it helped me to learn a lot about myself....
Thanks everyone, I think I'm going to definitely keep wearing it.

I'm not sure why it makes me feel better. I'm not sure if it had something to do with what the woman said, or the fact it's from a foreign country where religion and belief is big. It's like consciously I know it's just a necklace, but it's so mysterious (it has writing on it in a different language) and I know it's a coin of some sort and deep down inside I feel a connection to it.
btw, I like your avatar, Joey. :)
Thank you, I drew it myself and it's what I hope to look and feel like in a few years time

well, it sounds like you've placed a certain amount of faith in this object, and faith is a POWERFUL thing, regardless of what it's placed in.
I'm happy for you. I'm glad you found something that resonates with you. I'm glad that you are protected.

I'm sure you will! The drawing is very good, it's so simple and yet...so expressive!
Thank you Oriah, it finally feels nice to have something to believe in.
Thanks Beth, I do a lot of drawings and paintings like that, I find it easiest.
Keep wearing it,I feel the same way when I wear my Crucifix
Sometimes we keep objects with us because they contain special significance to us. It gives us psychological comfort and peace of mind. We do not necessarily need to have beliefs at all, to find a niche of comfort in such objects.
Unrelated to my own religious beliefs, I always like to wear my medallion of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, because she has been inspiring me for a number of years now, and thus wearing her around my neck helps remind me of her character, background, and personal integrity.
