As things are getting closer (still far off though) I've began thinking about post-op care and whatnot. The first few things that hit me was the odor, and what one is to expect. So.. should I be closer to GGs or something more in my current state? As of now, I would describe it as sweet and musky, and I kinda of like it if I must say and I hope it stays that way.
Next up would be flora; Is douching really everything I should think about? Will eating X food not ruin it for example?
Odour while you are healing may be a bit off but after awhile you will find you settle in to a normal female odour. Keeping clean will keep that to a minimum.
DON'T DOUCHE! (unless your doctor instructs otherwise.) The natural flora helps keep you healthy and douching kills the beneficial bacteria.

Will second all that. For me it was almost the first month it smelled not that great. Now it seems what a normal female would smell like if she was not having say a yeast infection or dying sperm if you know what i mean.

My hospital discharge instructions did say that in time my vaginal tissue would take on more female texture and would develop the little beasties that natal women have with them. Depending on who your surgeon is, it will be a little different with each as to how long it will take, unfortunately, I did develop a yeast infection at about week two, and that threw things off a bit, but at least I know the smell to be careful off. Sigh.
