Irresistible or Terrible: 18 Novelty Fast Foods (http://www.chron.com/lifestyle/food/gallery/Breakfast-taco-anyone-67701/photo-5008562.php)
With news that Taco Bell is taking one step closer to inflicting waffle breakfast tacos on the nation, we figure it is time for a look at the nation's nastiest novelty fast foods. Yum.
I feel diabetic shock coming on. :-\
Dang!!! I read the title and thought it was about me  I figured on voting 'Both'... LOL
I've never been the first to answer a poll. Now I feel special.
I have actually had the McRib before. It is better without raw onions though.
Sorry but I'll pass on that menu. The only two things that sounds edible too me are the McRib and the lobster roll. But I have no problem not eating them.
I think I would add to the list the "Humdinger" - a double chili cheeseburger topped with sliced hot dogs.
Formerly made by Pete's Grandburger in downtown Los Angeles (moment of silence).
I want to try the donut breakfast sandwich, grilled cheese burger melt, Denny's fried cheese melt, a cronut, a bacon sundae, chicken wings, pancake sausage bites, and a pasta bread bowl.
I don't do much fast food anymore but every now and then I get a craving for a JumboJack with cheese add bacon with a side of onion rings and I use to love their cheesy bacon potato wedges
Since I've been learning to cook I find that I can make a better version of just about anything on any fast food menu for less $$$$$
I also think most of the options listed sound pretty nasty :P
I've not had any of those as I don't eat at fast food places that often. I usually prefer the food at local grills and restaurants and none of those are very fast...
Omg none of these sound good. . . seriously? fast food lobstah? **shudders**
For fast food, I like Qdoba, their burritos are good. Though is it fast food since they don't have a drive-thru?
I also like Cosi's, but I am not sure if they're fast food either. They're kind of like a Panera Bread.
Taco Bell - 7 layer Burrito - el fresco minus the guacamole' sauce - this way it is Vegan  (the sauce has dairy in it)

Aren't half the layers dairy lol? It basically becomes a 4 layer burrito beans, lettuce, tomato and rice

;D that is what the el fresco option does - you don't know about that? it removes the cheese and sour cream and adds a layer of fresh salsa instead this makes if Vegan ;D (but ONLY if you remember to tell them to also remove the guacamole sauce because that ALSO has dairy in it most of them don't know this) so it is actually a 5 layer burrito and they add more of the stuff to make up for it ;D the only other place in town to go that is easy is Chipotle
there is another sit down restaurant, but it is far more expensive and not fast food
I guess I don't eat fast food much since I've never had any of the things on the list.

The McDonald's Lobster Roll is only available in selected locations in Maine.

So no sour cream and cheese either. That actually sounds pretty good.
I make my burritos at home with cuban black beans.
I hope some eager beaver puts together a list of the calories, sodium, and fat content of each ofl those items!
Eager beaver? Humph!!! Such language Dev. :eusa_naughty: We are talking about eating things but that's going a bit too far
Sorry! I'll punish myself.

Is that soap deep-fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar?
And cinnamon. Stop revealing my secrets!
Come on now! Who couldn't use a bacon milk shake or a bacon sundae? :o

I like salty things in ice cream and in chocolate. mmmmm
You know, I gotta stop going to these places! It is up to the take-out window and a fill-'er-up too much for me these days. I see these food promotions and only a few times I'll try these if it is not a sweet item. Usually it is a #1 medium at the burger joint du jour with a Dr. Pepper. It is usually too hot to cook here during this season, even with the fresh veggies coming out of my garden. Homemade sandwiches? The bread from the grocers are too dense and gummy and I end up eating the stuff in between and ending up throwing out the rest of the loaf. I like my BLT fresh and a shake, separately, not infused together!
Joelene
Joelene - it's all the same to your stomach!
Aww I was hoping I would get away with not having one here lol. The pretzel burger did me in. Though Sonic's pretzel dogs are amazing as well.. I think it's still open right now too...
Kia Ora Jamie,
::) An apple...As a small child, when visiting the countryside (which was a treat for a city child) scrumping was a popular past time, (I just couldn't resist it) and one had to be 'fast' to get away from the angry farmer who own the apple orchard...So does this qualify as " Irresistible Fast Food" ;) ;D
Metta Zenda :)
I was thinking yesterday, that I miss Chili Dogs from Sonics.

I would say it all depends on whether you got caught!

Kia Ora Jamie,
I was fast so I never got caught, but I did get an electric shock once when reaching over a fence to grab an apple - the fence was electrified...(But I still got the apple though) ;)
Metta Zenda :)
Ewwww, most of the stuff on that stuff sounds disgusting to a (half) german like me. I vote for the McRib, it's very tasty but i haven't had one in a long time.
In my little corner of the world there is a small chain of tamale stores, Delia's Tamales, that sell them by the dozen. If that isn't decadent enough, they even have a drive thru.
Their cream cheese and jalapeño as well as their chicken and cheese tamales are to die for... and given the amount of fat in them you will if you are not careful!
Mmmmm tamales :) That's a tasty treat I haven't had for awhile... Yum!!!

There is quite a variety of them too. Every Christmas, the entire family would be in the kitchen making tamales (ground beef, because my mom insists on it)... almost enough for the next three months. My great-aunt makes a special batch of pig's ear tamales (homemade and very rarely made elsewhere) and brings us some too (we exchange tamales like people in colder climates exchange fruitcakes :P)!
My wife was unfortunate enough to start eating a batch of them thinking they were just pork tamales. "Why are these tamales crunchy", she asked. My sister and I looked at her with horror as competition to eat them is fierce enough and she threw them away in shock when we told her what they were. :o
Personally, I wish to someday fuse Greek and Mexican to make Lamb & Feta tamales. My mom just insists I'm crazy. :P
I understand that making tamales is a long involved process, it would be interesting to experiment with different meats and cheeses
I like most cheeses including Feta and also blue cheese
I actually have a recipe for Greek style quesadillas :)
I went to the Aussie franchise of Burger King today - Hungry Jacks.
I was coerced. The woman I was with was demanding.
First thing I noticed; I was the size of one leg of the people who appeared to be devote customers. The place was very clean. The staff were very polite. The food was well presented rubbish.
I couldn't eat any of it. The smell was enough.
There was once a British agricultural colony in northern Baja California, near present-day San Quintin.
In the 1880s, a British land company with plans for a wheat empire purchased much of the San Quintin area from the US–based International Land Company; at the time, ILC owned most of northern Baja. In response to promises of agricultural wealth, around a hundred English colonists purchased subdivided land tracts from the parent company, planted wheat, and constructed a gristmill. For flour transportation, the English built a pier on inner Bahiá San Quintin and began constructing a railway to link up with the Southern Pacific tracks to the north in California. Thirty kilometers of track were laid, including a rail causeway from the west bank of inner Bahiá San Quintin, before the colony failed. A 17-ton, six-wheeled locomotive still lies underwater at the mouth of the bay, the remains of a loading accident for the aborted railway.

Though the British have been long gone, they left more than submerged locomotive and a graveyard. They left their cultural heritage, in the form of the bangers and mash breakfast burrito. Mexican-English fusion fast food.
Flour tortilla, with British style-sausages, lumpy mashed potatoes, brown gravy, and tomato salsa. Loverly.
Damn girls you get all the good food over there our fast food industry in aus really hasn't changed or had good food in over 30 years, I think I'm living in the wrong country lol.

I
must make this! For I am intrigued by the idea of a delicious fusion of the cuisine of my heritage with the novelty of British cuisine (it's kinda rare where am... but I loved the steak and kidney pie I had on vacation!)
This sounds better than when I filled a taquito on Thanksgiving with turkey, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce! ;D
... freaked out my relatives more than when I wrapped bratwurst and sauerkraut in a flour tortilla..
