Title: surgery regrets...
Post by: adison on August 15, 2013, 06:36:56 PM
There is quite a bit of material out there about mtf post-ops that have either regretted getting SRS OR regretted some aspect of it. Some wish they had not done it all and it wasn't for them. Others wished they had done it years and years ago and regret the wasted time. Still others liked it overall but didn't care for certain aspects of PO-life.  I'm wondering about any regrets on the ftm side.

I heard of couple of transguys who regret hysterectomy surgery.
its because in my area you must be sterilized/castrated or unable to get children to get your gender on ID, changed so many have just done it because it was the only option.

Now laterly, Sweden got rid of the law that foce people to undergo the surgery to be reconized as male or female in sociaty, and it have made alot of people stand up who either had the surgery or had it in mind, that they regreat doing the surgery and only did cause they felt forced between doing the surgery or never being registered as the gender they felt.

No regrets here.  Best thing I could have done for myself.  I reach down and I have male junk, as small as that is. But it works for peeing and orgasming.  And that's good enough for me!

Sounds just like what I want, sneakersjay. I am still few years from having the money for surgery, hopefully I can get it done in the US by then, otherwise I will have to do like you did.  Good feelings and stand to pee are top on my list of what I want out of surgery.  Did you get good growth from T to start with?

Regarding growth, well, compared to what I started with (microscopic, LOL) then yeah, I got good growth.  But really, not real good growth.  My dick soft is about an inch.  It took a lot of practice to get it out the fly, and only with certain underwear, and only at urinals or outside (stream too unpredictable to aim for a toilet), but yeah. I'm happy with it.

I'm guessing detransitioning is actually kind of rare and I think perhaps rarer in FTMs, as we pass so well, for the most part. The other thing is the lower surgery is much less common and more expensive. I've heard of guys not liking meta, but the guys I know personally are happy with it.

We have that very same situation here in Norway neighbor, except here they haven't changed the laws yet.

It's changed in the US away from surgery for stuff like passports and Social security. Of course that leaves all the states to do their own thing, and some of their things aren't for the best.

Truth be told I was more elated following my hysterectomy than I was following lower surgery.  I was thrilled beyond belief that the parts I hated were gone.  I was practically giddy!  But then, I had already reproduced.

has anyone heard of someone regretting top surgery? Not just that they didn't like their results.

Yo! I have a question and I am hoping I don't come off as a jerk or insensitive.
Transsexual people detransition, due to wanting to be female (or male) again and live there lives as such. Were these people not transsexuals to begin with?

I know with out a doubt that no one can mark another persons gender or lack there of. But it is just a little confusing to me so if anyone can give me some insight i'd be grateful.

Some people may willingly detransition due to religion.  I know of one person who did this a year ago.  According to one person who was following her Youtube videos when she was transitioning (now all deleted) she was very excited to get top surgery and had that done.  I have no idea if she personally regrets it but now she just makes videos of her hair journey.  She seems pretty happy now to me.

I get that people may chose to do so based on factors like , religion, money, not being accepted, family and ect. But I am wondering about people who do so just because they want to with no other underlying factors. Just that they want to be female/male again
