Title: How do I buy the things I need
Post by: Keely Mcbain on August 17, 2013, 08:14:01 AM
Hello

I was at work the other day and I saw cheap pair of Lingerie that I wouldn't mind wearing.
They where extremely cheap and on sale and I couldn't help but feel that I'd look cute in them.
There was however, one small problem. I can't buy a pair of panties from the place I work. or anywhere for that matter.
Even if I did. it's a small town and word travels quickly. and buying online is not an option for me.

What would you suggest?
Thanks

You can't buy it "for someone else"?

I could. but as I said. it's a small town. Everyone knows a bit about everyone.
Thanks though - much appreciated.

Some people also travel out of town if thats possible for you to do.  Or get someone who knows to buy it for you, if you have that.  I'm assuming you never work alone otherwise that would be a good time to buy it.

The only people who I've told simply thought I was joking and didn't take me seriously (although that's probably my fault)
I had not considered traveling out of town though. This might be the way I do it.
Thanks a heap. ;)

hi Keely, I used to fear buying clothes in my hometown,i do  buy mostly out of town but if i do see something i like(  panties, bra, dress etc.) in my hometown i buy it because after all it's my prefrence to wear them if others have problem with it they can get over it,but you are right about about small towns, people do talk so let them that's their problem being  soo judgemental ,hugs from MIss Jill  in Alabama

Hello Keely  :D...
Incredibly, this is a very common situation in my country  ::)... after all cd's are everywhere  :P...

I can feel a little "funny", but there is a saying: "... if one wants to expose something, try to hide that 'something' ..." ... this way, with the current times of internet and media, you always know "someone" to send this purchase ... as well as <3 commented ...

Think about it ...

Hi dear! I live in a small town as well and I have discovered that if you worry they know, they usually do. It will come out sometime through the grapevine so.......grab it while it is on sale! *Giggle*

Back when I started, I too was afraid that someone would "find out".  But I now could care less what others think they know.  It is flat none of their damn business.

The suggestion to go to another town is very good advice. I went bra shopping last weekend at a store a few towns away. The sales lady was super nice and handed me a tape measure since I wasn't sure of my size. After I got the size she helped me pick out some nice bras and even offered and let me try them on.

It seems to me like some places would be better to go when it's not busy, others might actually be better when there's a crowd.

I'm thinking that thrift stores (where I shop) for clothes may be better when it's not too busy, pick the right cashier, get a scope for the store and how people might react and all.  On the other hand, I'm wondering if for makeup and accessories at the grocery store/pharmacy (where I can do self check-out) may be better when it's busy because people are too distracted not running into one another that they don't see or care what you have.  Conversely, going late at night means there's nobody else in the cosmetics aisle.

Does anyone have advice on timing?  I don't have really any experience shopping.

Wal-Mart has stores open 24 hours. The dressing rooms aren't open 24 hours though.

if it is that you cant go out of a tiny town and everybody tells what the other person does....and if you have a wife or gf who lives with you and you cant receive mail....

then you have two options:
one is to open a m\pobox and use it to shop online...that how i did many times to buy tighhigh boots andother shoes and accessoies that only online you can get.

he other idea is that if you love those items at your work place...you could buy in whole sale ...say 7 pairsa and of anyone askes you say i will sell them online etc.....then you retun them or exchange them depends the return policy, and you keep what you wanted...again if anuone asks you say well i could sell just 2 or 3......no one will care.

I agree 100% with Jessica. I live in a small town as well, and it just came down to either me or them, and I decided that I was more important.  :) So go for it girl, go out and have yourself a fun shopping spree!!! :)

Another option may be amazon locker.  It is possible to order something completly anonymous using gift cards and locker delivery.
They only deliver to lockers when it's sold by Amalzon or fulfilled by Amazon.  Not sure which states have them yet.

Does this store have an online purchase option?

I buy all my stuff online now.

I tend to buy several items along with the feminine purchase.  Thus the bra or panties becomes just one more item along with the toothpaste, shampoo, tissues, socks, etc.  In my mind at least having several purchases makes the item I really want sort of disappear in the midst.  The clerk is busy scanning items and not focusing on you standing there with a single item.  Of course I could be deceiving myself, but my best guess is that one more item among a number of items, whatever it is, is just that... one more item.

Reminds me of that scene in American Graffiti where Charles Martin Smith tries to buy booze for the first time.

You can always buy it as a "gift" for your "girlfriend"?  Then again, if your future involves going full time at some point, then no better time than the present to let it out...

Maybe im now too used to do that or i may seem not to care much about what the cashier may think, but actually it really doesnt matter how you buy, if it is a small town or not.

i bought today 2 pair of butt enhancer, 2 corsets, one body corset and 3 pair of sexy hose, at burlington, i really didnt notice weird looks at the people that were making the line or the cashier, i actually asked the cashier loudly to keep the hangers on them cause they maybe needed to be exchanged or returned, assuming we were talking about the lady who the items were for.

another day i bought 4 pairs of pumps size 10 and 11, all at the same time, the cashier noticed the size were little unusual, and she asked me if i was sure about the size i said, i only know that 9 is too small and "she" asked me if i see 10s in a classy model to get them asap as is rare to find good shoes on those sizes, thats why im buying 4 i think they loo right, otherwise i will bring them back.

i mean you can buy your items easily without suffering embarassment just act normal,

i think that buying thru internet is not the thrill as when you are actually in the store figuring out if youi can fit on that dress or that skirt, or that hose wont be too small, etc.....sometimes i sneak out into the dressing room and try a skirt or a dress or shoes, when there is no attendant checking the items you got with you for trying on
