I am officially out at trans to all my family this month - just my wife's side to go.
Everything went swimmingly well- not only was I accepted, everyone was happy I found whats been bugging me all these years. To add to the joy, my cousin in Melbourne was extremely excited by the news and immediately booked me to go shopping with her. She is an awesome mistress of funky little boutique and vintage shops. Awesome!
So thats dad, mum, sister, neice, nephew, aunt, uncle, two cousins and their partners.
I also came out as trans to our celebrant for dads funeral in order to avoid gendering me in her speech, and she was also delighted- turns out she was a former police woman and dealt with a lot of trans issues and training. Win!
Anyway, thought you may like to hear a story with a silver lining. I am very lucky.
Sounds like a similar story to mine.. And it's great to hear of another great coming out, all too often all we see/hear are the disasters.
Thats great to hear K!
Fingers crossed on round two: the wifes family
Oh I forgot to mention out 100% at work too. Again... no problems whatsoever.
:)
Is it not so great to breathe again.
I am glad all has went well in your forward process. If you do run into anyone who is not as supportive do not take it personaly. Let it roll off your back and just move on.
Again so glad you are past all the unknowing and are in a good place.
