Title: Need FTM texting friends, please?
Post by: James-Caiden-Ray on August 24, 2013, 05:14:53 PM
Hey, my name's James. I really need some FTM friends because I don't know any transgender people... I feel alone, even though I know there are a bunch of people I could talk to online. Would someone please text me? I prefer texting because I have my phone with me mostly all the time, and I don't go on my computer as much. Message me to get my number, and please tell me something about yourself, too?
Thanks so much!
-James

Hi James, while I am don't give out my cell phone number, it's quite easy to get onto Susan's if you have a smartphone. I mainly access Susan's from my phone. You also might want to see if there's a trans group near you, that way you can meet trans people face to face and get to know people on a more personal level there.

Also, I believe you need 15 posts in order to PM.

I tried PMing you.  I wouldn't mind a texting buddy.

You can meet people IRL using Susans. But it might take some patience. I started PMing someone and then we went to email and so on . I met her IRL at Philly Trans health about a year afterwards. I don't know that this is typical. It's also possible that someone here is in your area. But I'd agree to look at your own area and see if there is a support group. This is a great thing and somethign I think all trans people should check out, though not everyone is lucky enough to have a thriving group near them. You should google it and also look into LBGT centers. If you are near college age you should look at a nearby college (even if you aren't yourself in the school, most centers there won't mind).
