Admission for transgenders
FOR the first time, arts and science colleges in Tamil Nadu will admit transgender students.
According to the New Indian Express the Higher Education Department will soon issue an order to co-educational colleges to include a separate entry in their admission forms under the sex category.
A new law to be implemented in a phased manner will also ensure that these students are not discriminated against but given equal opportunity for learning.
