Title: I think I screwed things up :(
Post by: Leannes on August 25, 2013, 07:56:48 AM
Hi

I'm 19 years old mtf.
I started my HRT about 6 month ago. I started with a moderate dose of estrofem (pills) and androcour.
My breast development was starting great. But then I did something stupid...

My breast development was so overwhelming that I panicked and decreased the dose of my estrogen on my own (without consulting with my doctor). I have been taking the lower for 2 month (5th and 6th months).

And now it seems my breasts have stopped growing. Even though I now take a higher dose of estofem.

I'm really worried that I somehow managed to screw up my breast development and it won't ever grow.

My breasts have been the same size for the last 3 months.

I'm so lost and devestated right now. What was I thinking back then!

Anyway, my question is, do I have any hope in achieving more breast size even though I probably screwed things up?

You'd have to ask your doctor but you probably didn't screw anything up.  You may have already reached your maximum potential though.  There's not really a way of knowing.

Please remove the dosages now - before mods have done that for You. But seeing those numbers... please, go see doctor now. The one You are taking ATM (estrofem) is waaaay too high for 6 months... OMG, you might be killing your hormone receptors with such high dosages and then You might be pumping hormones inside at any rates with no feminisation... :(. And that estrofem dosage that You started - it was twice as high as You should have taken - any endo will tell You that. Do You have one, by the way?
You might need to take vitamin supplements to restore Your receptors, if that is the case... In any event, if Your breasts stop growing or grow slower - increasing dosage IS NOT THE WAY TO REMEDY THAT! :( You do the blood tests and check estradiol/testosterone levels, not measure Your brests... :(

First of all, Leannes, welcome to the site.  I am glad you came here to discuss your issues.

It is always best to follow your doctor's instructions when taking HRT medications.  The development of breast tissue often comes in spurts, so I don't think you "screwed things up."  You are only six months into your transition, and breast development sometimes takes years.

I'd like you to read the Terms of Service.  As Emily pointed out, we don't post dosages here, because everybody is different, and what might be appropriate for you, might not be best for someone who might be on DIY hormones.
