Was it killing you while the site was down? I have no fingernails left! Hugs, Devlyn
What happened exactly? Why was it down? I tried all day.
I noticed it was down this morning and I've been trying to get here all day! At least it's back now - I felt so lonely for a while!
Not sure what happened, there was a twelve hour break in posting, though. Thankfully, I slept through most of it. My coffee tasted flat without Susan's this morning!
Indeed! I ended up coming back every ten minutes or so - "Is it back? Is it back yet?" but alas!
I used the time to do house/office cleaning. Threw out two garbage bags of old software and the manuals, some old cloths, etc.
I'd rather of spent the time here.
:)

10 minutes? I sat there clicking refresh for ever.... :icon_redface: I actually got on once for about 3 minutes and then it died again.

Most of the time I just wait until it works itself out. The only time I get annoyed is when it happens to my own personal sites. THAT is truly annoying.
What sites are those? Portiaporcupine.com? Iloveportia.net?
<running away>
I think the ISP messed up a setting though they are trying to claim it was the equipment outside my house. But had them here first thing this morning, then another group, then another group, then another group.... I havn't been to bed yet and it's 2:16pm so I am off for at least 8-12 hours.

Yup...as often as I could, I tried...(I'm at work so can't just hit "refresh-refresh-refresh" LOL).
Got part of a page (the blue border, no text)...Gaaa!! So frusterating! :-)
But all better now.
:-)

Thanks for getting the site back up for us! Sleep tight, hugs, Devlyn
You deserve some sleep, and thank you for all the work.
thanks for getting the site up again. whenever a site is offline for a long time i start worrying it won't get up again ever. some of my favorite sites have just disappeared that way...
like, what if susan suddenly decided that it's time to give up this project. would anyone be able to take over and continue the site?
whenever i get rich, i'll see if i can't do a little more to support important projects like this one, it's a little scary to know how reliant we are on pretty much one single person.

ha! so did i! i even thought our homophobic govt had blocked the site. i felt like i was lost again in this evil world with noone to care for me
Its not the first time the site has been down and I'm sure it won't be the last.
We just need to trust and wait. So easy to type that, but not as easy to do it.
I weren't too sure, I thought it may have been just me, but then I checked a site that checks to see whether a site is down or not, www.isitdownrightnow.com/. As it said Susans was down, I continued about my business. I checked to see if the site was back up a handful of times, but nothing too extreme.
I checked a few times as well. I missed it a little lol.
I thought my phone was broke this morning, and then remembered I'd managed to send a tweet. I kept checking whenever I could, but mostly I was at work and bored. Is there anywhere we could know if a longer blackout happened? I thought of the facebook group, but I don't know if you can find it without a direct link, and it's rarely used anyway.
Like Alex, I also thought my phone was broken.
Work was so boring today without Susans to make it fun. . . I ended up "window shopping" online during lunch.
I tried over and over. I was blaming yahoo.
I love this site, but I didn't have any physical withdrawals or anything, lol. While I checked it here and there, I only had shakes and some severe nausea. ;)
I think it's an interesting phenomenon regarding our attachment to technology. Sometimes it's good to take a break and learn to detach oneself a bit. I'm troubled over the fact that I panic if I don't check my phone or email at least once an hour. We as a society can sometimes be too emotionally reliant on technology (I include myself here).
As someone with pretty severe social anxiety disorder, I rely on the support and friendship that I can get from the internet. I'm not sure how I would have survived without the invention of the internet. Maybe it would have been better, maybe I would have been forced to seek therapy. Or maybe I would have ended my life considering how hard I am finding it to actually even consider therapy now. Scary thought.

well that's kinda true but without internet i'd still be thinking i'm some kinda freak soul which ended up in a wrong body and that i'm the only person on earth with that issue, and decide to live alone forever hiding what i am. we needn't to be addicted to it, but it's good to have a versatile source like internet
