Title: Scars Darkening on HRT
Post by: AMDERS on August 27, 2013, 10:11:33 AM
I've been on a HRT for almost a month now and have noticed that under my eyes are darker and a scar from stitches on my chin is showing up. I know the under eye darkness is caused by thining skin, but could the scar showing up more prominent also be part of the skin thining. Thanks for the help!

Hrt can cause a change in pigmentation called Melasma.  Usually on the face. That is different from what you are describing, though maybe related.  Estrogen is also well known for causing the seam-line of your scrotum to darken also.  Check out, may help.

I have hundreds of scars on my arms ( from when I was young) and I was noticing they have been much more prominent in the last month or two. In certain light, fluorescent, the scars are very prominent.
