I'm having some sort of a wardrobe malfunction here... Hope I can get some advice.
I mainly work on IT. Half of the time I sit on a desk working with a PC, and the rest is spent between walking from one workstation to another, crawling under desks and handling medium weight stuff and installing things. Prior to transition I always wore jeans , t-shirt and the most comfortable and worn out sneakers I could find. The first year I would wear buttoned shirts and shoes, But somebody compared me to Moss from The IT Crowd, so end of the story.
Since I started going out, I haven't been abale to do my work in the best conditions:
- Jeans and Tucking: Sturdy trousers protecting my knees has proved to be the most useful clothing for years, but now they imply tucking for 8 hours. It's painful, I can't concentrate, and the pain restricts my movements, which usually are be comparable to an illustrated Kamasutra. I simply can't stand it...
- A dress or a skirt and top: Most comfortable thing I can find since I don't tuck. Upong arriving at the office I will remove sandals, heels whatever and change to sport shoes for working, only going back to the other footwear when I go out for coffe or lunch. The issues? a) Having to get on my four and go under a desk while somebody is looking makes me feel very vulnerable, and b) They get damaged more easily when doing physical work.
It's been four months on HRT and the tucking does not get any better. The crown jewels are already our of order, maybe they feel milimetrically smaller, but I still feel awful while tucking, Whenever I do a movement I think one of them will burst. I just go to the bathroom and untuck for ten minutes to breath a bit whenever I can. Not the first time I find a dark red spot under the skin.
If my work depended on all physical, I would have two options: untuck, and having a frond bulge does nor make me remotely happ, or entirely forget about jeans. Or wear skirts / dresses, but putting short runnin tights under them to protect myself form uninvited looks. Which also would help me if I want to remove the dress to work better (I always keep emergency T-shirts for heavy duty days).
Dunno, any idea on how to make less of an odyssey the daily life? Thanks.
A comment from wrong side of tracks.
I have seen women wearing culottes, they are like a pair of shorts with a skirt over. One other idea, leggings with a long shirtdress thingy.
How about a tunic or other style long top and jeans?

Mmm, Actually, this was my idea back then in July. I was looking for a long top, but I couldn't find anything that matched. In fact, I use long shirts at the gym specifically to avoid seeing my bulge when in stretch pants.
This is a tough one. If you're stealth and you want to remain stealth and you are un-tucked wearing a tunic, something as simple as a gust of wind will unstealth you. A tunic would also have to flare at the bottom otherwise bulges are still visible. Personally, I tuck hard when wearing jeans. You get used to it after a few years, fortunately or not.
