Soo. I was at the eye doctor and got a new prescription and so i decided to change my ugly pink glasses for something more comfy and less "kiddy".

Maybe a tiny bit longer. It will give me an andro look or masculine...i hope. Someone at another forum told me that.

That's my face so you guys can visualise it xD
Well. Thats all for now. Thanks and be honest :D
okay. I'll be honest with you. I think the glasses feminize your face. They are wider than your face which I think makes your face look smaller and more femine. Maybe try for aslightly smaller pair?
I agree with Chuck, but they are definitely better than the previous ones.
Maybe looking for more 'square' instead of 'oval' glasses helps too!
On the haircut; I'm not a haircut expert, lol, but it looks nice to me. Maybe a bit too pixie-cut-ish though. I think that cutting off the "fake sideburns" would help with that, as those are a distinct 'trademark' of the pixie cut.
I would suggest you try a pair with a more rectangular frame. I've noticed that most guys who wear glasses tend to wear ones with a strong rectangular shape to them, and I think that makes them look more masculine.
Agree re: the "fake sideburn" thing. The pointy hair thing on the side is sort of a recipe for misgendering. When my hair gets longer it does this but I have the hair person cut mine flat. Of course mine is VERY short, shorter than the picture actually at this point.
I have a picture where I wore readers. I don't wear glasses but to read. Anyway my sister said to get new glasses as they are too feminine. Squared off is good. Though not for sunglasses imo. They need to be larger to do any good.

Damn it....i couln't get square ones because my face is too small... also could not get smaller ones...
Only from the kid's section and those are bad enough....
A new add to my dysphoria......
That's odd... why wouldn't you be able to wear squared glasses with a small face? *puzzled* They were just not in stock?
Well, I know a (cis!)guy in my class (well, previous class. High school class) who's really small (say 1,50 m tall and for the rest really small too) and he wears kid glasses himself. He managed to find a simple and black pair of which it's in no way obvious it's made for kids. Maybe they have one like that in your store too??
I guess you can't wear lenses, right? For the corrective thing your glasses have to do and all...
Hmm...
Oh. I tried but they had all those colorful things.
Same with the square ones, they where too big on my face.
Also. Yeah i have terrible myopia. -13 .
Am blind as a rock :p
Oh but i found a pair online at Warby Parker.
But my mom was all: i pay'd for that pair so you are not going to use them now?!...
I told her thst is good to have spares in case something happens to one*i have had some accidents lately and had to pay for new ones a month after i got them*
So,it is a good idea. They are small ans rectangular. Also they don't have transition so i can wear them while i swim :D.
those glasses aren't horrible. should be ok for everyday use, when not presenting very male. good for a more feminine or androgynous look. still a little too big though.
and those "fake sideburns" aren't fake sideburns. they're feminine. it might be a good idea to keep them if you don't want to masculinize your appearance too quickly and are going for something more androgynous. if you find out it looks too feminine, you can just cut them off yourself.
I don't want the fake sideburns...
The crap is that my mom is totally against me getting another pair of glasses..
So i'm stuck with them.....
I will have the money later on to get the new a new pair....
But her bitching me ugh....
Whats wrong with me having two pairs, yes is more money but i would spend it again if something happens or when i have to re'change those.
Hmm, parents... they can be such a pain, can't they? :/
Can't you ask to split it, so you also have your share? That often gets my parents more lenient to allow things anyway.
Or can't you say you need it for... a sport you do? So the "good ones" don't break?
How much do the glasses cost?
I guess having them for a month or so and then letting them have a little "accident" is way too obvious, right? >:-)
I don't even know if I could do that myself (too damn honest) but if it's your only road to new glasses...
But yeah, don't worry too much. They could be better, but they aren't overly feminine or anything that they will blow all your chances of passing. If you either present more andro in general, or go way more masculine with the rest, I think you'll still pass!
Thanks!! Well i will keep trying. I only have to get a little more $$.
They where 400$ USD,but if i get a new pair online it will be a 100 something,or 200.
But there is no way it gets to 400.
I will have to nudge a little...and no,i woulnd't be able to break them on purpose xD.
I'm just way too nice... 8)
Have you thought about getting contacts? I'm a huge fan of 'em since it means actually having peripheral vision lol.

Could you get your RX and go to a site like coastal and order a pair of glasses? I think you get the first pair free and only pay shipping.
Currently the best place in the US to get eyeglasses is discount stores like Wal-Mart or Sam's club. Second-best is online. Eyeglass retailers are the absolute worst.
And, I don't know about independent opticians. But there's one downtown where I live, so I may give them a shot.
Google "luxottica" and let your mind be blown. (Online is cheapest, but quality can be hit-and-miss.)
Rx? My prescription?.
If that's the case. Then yes i have it,well right now the lenscrafters have it but i will get it back when they are ready*about 20 days, its almost a week now*

Online is ok from what I've experienced. My girlfriend got a pair from coastal for free and they're just as good as any other. These online companies aren't examining you anyway your doctor is. Yes, RX I mean prescription. See if you can get a copy and maybe try to order some masculine frames if you can.
