I was juuuuust about to get up and clean the kitchen, accidentally clicked on one of those dumb links on the side of my Facebook page (yes I know, how could I be so dumb hehe).
Weight loss for women........
One of those tedious audio video presentations with no way to fast forward either, no way to skip to the punchline (which usually means I turn them off immediatey, I mean do they really get people willing to buy into that approach?).
Anyway, you have a male silhouette and a female silhouette and then then put a stop sign over the male one and announce this is for women only not men. And then what happens, a GUY comes on and starts extolling the virtues of HIS program.
FAIL FAIL FAIL and FAIL!
Heck why does he think he knows more than a woman might? Might he have just hired a woman to shill his product?
If it was my program and my method and I was a guy, I'd have just hired a woman to sell it any way. I mean who cares who sells it as long as the money goes in the right pocket eh.
Hehe posted that on my Facebook as well, my buddy says I am becoming quite the feminist. I said thank you. He said it wasn't a compliment. I of course don't need to care if I like it anyways :)
"a guy said it, so it must be true"...
might be because most straight women like to watch and listen to a manly man. and for some reason many like a man with authority.
but on this, i'm with you in your feminism, lesley. wouldn't it be much more interesting to have a fifty year old woman with a nice body sell it...
Well yeah, I mean, you start with a woman that has some flab, and she says that was so last year, and now look at me and she shows an image of a to die for figure and it's like how do I get to look like her?
Nothing is more convincing than simply envy :)
I know it is crazy to beat myself up over idiotic expectations, I mean get real Lesley, you are NOT going to be wearing stick girl no flab 16 year old school short shorts EVER. But I would not mind seeing a woman that is 40 something showing me something at least useful.
There was another day I saw a online browser sort of rpg game that is claimed to be 'for women too' and I looked at the initial page of the game site and it was hmmm looks like it was drawn by a man if you ask me.
Sometimes you have to be part of the audience to actually get any real credibility with the audience.
