Title: Starting
Post by: EmmaEms on September 03, 2013, 11:44:19 AM
I now have my foot in the door in the past week I have done the following.
-Told my Parents
-Told my whole family
-Shaved my whole body (was very unconferrable with all the hair)
-Scheduled a appointment to start Therapy and HRT.

:D

If you think shaving body hair is uncomfortable, just wait until you get some ingrown hairs when they try to come back!  Yuck.

When you start anti-androgens, your body hair should diminish.

DONT SHAVE IT THICKENS THE HAIR rather invest in a personal epilator or waxing.  :) Epilator is so worth its results I highly recommend it

Believe what you want, I prefer to side with science rather than old wives tales

if snopes is not a reliable enough source for you, perhaps the Mayo Clinic

or

WebMD

yeah, it doesn't thicken the hair, it's just that the ends on the hair that grow back are flat and of full diameter rather than freshly regrown hair which tapers out.

The Tria that was mentioned above is a home use laser hair removal gun thingy.  Basically it emits high energy pulses of light that burn the hair in the follicle and prevent regrowth for some period of time.  Ends up being cheaper than going to a professional, but it is lower power and has a smaller treatment area per shot than the professional grade lasers.

I may look into the Tria and the ingrown hairs do not bug me to much the red bumps are ewwie and I cut my self for the first time in forever on my leg (bad) because my gf walked into the bathroom and scared me. I finally told her as I figured it would be best she accepted it and wants to be there every step of the way. Is that a good thing?

I think you should accept support wherever you can find it as long as they don't attempt to control your decisions.
