Last week I had dinner with my colleagues and drank sake, beer and etc.
While chatting and laughing together, one of them suddenly praised my beauty, although I did not wear any makeup.
It did not sound like a joke.
Other colleagues did not want to talk further, because it implied a kind of homosexuality.
But he continued, saying like "It is a privilege to sit next to a person who is so beautiful like you."
Any women will like to listen this kind of praise, but it was too much for me.
Some of my close male friends sometimes praise my facial beauty when they are drunken, but the talk is usually very brief.
He was also a little bit drunken, and talked long-windedly to praise me.
As he initially objected to my long hair, it was a surprise.
I am not quite sure why he suddenly changed his attitude.

I suspect the over-praising was due to the alcohol consumption. It sounds to me like you have broadened this fellow's mind a bit over time. I think what we normally call heterosexual usually, in fact, means being attracted to femininity. He now knows femininity doesn't just come from females. Still, I wouldn't mention it to him again and might give the situation a bit of distance.

That doesn't sound like the worst thing to happen barbie...
How did you feel about it?
Lyric,
You are always insightful. Alcohol was indeed the biggest factor.
Joules,
It was not bad to hear some praise. But it was awkward. All of my colleagues know very well who I am: transgender. Also they have met my wife and kids, sometimes having dinner together. They know that I am attracted to women, not men. Usually the praises of my beauty have been a kind of joke.
Yes. Overall it was positive. He and I can understand each other better. At least, he is not hostile to me.
