"Although a Pentagon official wouldn't confirm any change in policy, at least one Air Force base has begun recognizing the marriages of same-sex couples married in New Mexico — even before the state's supreme court reaches a final decision on the matter." At least one couple has stated that an air force based recognized their same-sex marriage from New Mexico, even though it's not clear whether new Mexico actually recognizes same-sex marriage.

The Pentagon hasn't given a clear answer, but those from Kirkland Air Force base said the policy came from off-base.
