Just for fun.
And yes this is bragging.

We worry about our lives and our decisions.

I had to go to my family medic today.

Just over 12 months ago.

BP 170/80. put on alpha and beta blockers. Cholesterol 7.5 om statins, bad reaction put on a different med none statin, clinically depressed on meds. Not coping with life. Suggested as suicidal, non-pathological, placed on watch.

Today (I have posted some of this before)

BP 115/55, taken off both alpha and beta blockers. Cholesterol 3.0, medication stopped. No evidence of clinical depression by two independent assessors. Cleared for surgery whenever I wish. No evidence of suicidal tendency.

Quote Medical comment: "This woman has faced profound physical, mental and life difficulties. Her response to therapy at both hormonal, work and social levels has been outstanding. I note she has been approved for surgery whenever she decides. I also note that her gender marker has been corrected in all of her documents at her own instigation."

Current weight 60 kilos. measurement in inches (for you yankees ) :angel: height 5' 9'' , 60 kilo, 38B, 30, 36.

Sit ups, 120 at a time 5 reps in a session, leg press 70 kilo, Ab crunchers carrying a 10 kilo weight, 120 in sessions of three reps. Run 10 kms daily, max pulse 120. bench press - forget it :laugh: was 100 kilos pre HRT no way I could do 50!!

Pride.

Immense.

I never ever ever thought I could live this life.

If you doubt that you can, well I was a basket case. In every way.

How did I do it? Miracles? Genetics?

Ahh no.

Hard work. I have hit the gym 3 days a week,  I hit the pavement every day.

Is it perfect? No.

As my colleagues and BF know I still awake screaming most nights; some horrors never go.

I still worry, I still cry.

I still have R, and she is my life.

But I took control.

So can you.

OK lets hear your positives!!

I ride, swim and run to keep fit.
Up to 200k on my nice new bike, 3km a session swimming and being slack not running that much at the moment after an ultra marathon, 100km.

No Dr stats but anyway I have fun.

Cindy. Yes. It is a great accomplishment.

While pursuing beauty, my body also became healthy. To me, health equals beauty. And, a determination.

Life is like that.

Fit, healthy, happy, close friends, a new set of branding irons and you have your letter.
What more could you ever ask for?
I know a Dr and a date. ;D
No not flowers and dinner.

Good for you Cindy, it is possible to be happy.
I am on my way as well after years of gloom. 
I now have motivation to keep fit and stay healthy.
Wonder how much weight I will drop?

I am sure there are some things that upset you, private like me. It's OK.

The day you're not happy I will have to worry.

There's nothing wrong with showing off!!

In 3 months (but really... 2 weeks) I dropped my A1c from 7.5 to 6.9. I'm on 3 month appointments, but those three months were the same as the previous three months... except for the last two weeks.

At that same appointment (same 2 week span) my cholesterol dropped... not sure how far (can't find my sheets from a year or 9 months ago), but it is now 134, 48 HDL, 67 Triglycerides, 73 LDL. My doctor said he can't get people that low on meds (not currently taking cholesterol meds). Previously he said that... while he's not immediately concerned with cholesterol, my numbers weren't great considering I was also diabetic. . . if my A1c isn't below 6.5 in November I'm going to be very surprised.

In 4 weeks I was down 20 lbs.
In ~6 weeks I am down 25.6 lb, starting at 235.

All of this has been with diet alone, so far. I'm slowly now incorporating light exercise.

So WTF is with people saying trans* is a choice? ALL of this is because I came out. I'm out to me and all of my local, adult family... but it was coming out to me (and my wife) that turned my life around... though the cost has been pretty high.

I've lost 55 pounds this year since January first from just watching what I eat more closely and not eating beef and not drinking soda (mostly water, some tea, and some lemonade only!). My clothing that was almost too small for me last year is now almost too big.  I'm working on getting an exercise bike (...I have one ordered but the stupid thing still hasn't shown up yet!). I'm seeing a therapist as of June. Me and my wife talk more now than we have over the last ... probably good 6 years now.

I've still got a long way to go, but for the first time in a long time I am feeling like I'm making some real improvement in my life as far as my physical and mental health.

55 pounds is an amazing achievement! Congrats.

My weight last November 184 pounds, now I'm down to 155. All done by diet as exercise is hard for me to do. But I do try to do some.

Blood pressure has always been very good, normally its 110/70.
I never smoked and I very rarely drink alcohol. Mostly water now but will have a soda now and then to rid the craving for it.

i changed my diet to a healthier one around two weeks ago, and already broke it. i blame it on the most annoying cold i've had in months, chocolate seems to have helped me get rid of it, so now it's back to fish and vegetables. it's funny how good the chocolate tasted last night compared to how horrible it tasted this morning. i don't think i'll have too much trouble if i limit my sins against my body to once every couple of weeks.

i'll write more if the diet actually works. i don't have a scale to measure any progress with, so i'll have to go by what the mirror tells me.

Differences in food culture play a role here. I like fish and vegetables, but seldom eat chocolate. The major source of carbohydrate to my body is actually rice, and I try hard not to eat rice when I drink alcohol beverage.

My eldest son likes meat, such as steak, pork and chicken, too much. His height is similar to mine, but has a slimmer waist, but with a lot of facial acne, which were caused by the excessive consumption of meat, according to the dermatologist.

And, overweight of kids is a national problem here in my country. Their average weight is heavier than American kids'. Their taste is completely westernized, preferring pizza, steak, and fried chicken to fish and kimchi.

Yes. I grow again. But now I feel that my short hair is too comfortable. Even I do not need to dry my hair in the morning, saving 2 hours. I am seriously considering keeping my hair short.

it would be so much easier to eat a healthy diet if i lived over there. at least i'd get better ingredients than what i find here. traditional food is fish, mutton, reindeer, and potatoes. lots of potato. they do have more protein than rice though, and not too few vitamins either. the coolest potato we have is blue, and i have a feeling there's more protein in it than in those white nearly carb only potatoes.

do you have any good kimchi recipe by the way?

There are several hundred kinds of kimchi available here. Recipes are available in the internet (e.g., http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-cabbage-kimchi-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn-189390 )

My favorite simplest recipe is:

1) Prepare one Chinese reddish
2) Cut it to make cubicles at the size of ice cube.
3) Put crude salt over the cubicles and mix well. Wait for about 30 min (the time here is critical in determining the taste) and rise the cubicles with water and dry the remaining water for about 5 min.
4) Spray dried red pepper powder, squashed garlic (3-5 cloves) and pickled sea food (such as anchovy, oyster, shrimp and other fishes, which may be available from Korean super markets)
5) Preserve the cubicles in a jar, and seal up to ferment. In 3-4 days at room temperature, you may eat them. Then preserve the jar in the refrigerator.

However, I do not like kimchi so much, as it is usually too salty. I like kimchi of northern provinces, because they do not use so much salt as temperature is lower than southern provinces. They use salt to preserve longer, and in warmer regions, they need more salt.

One reason for this thread is that obesity kills more trans*people than any other factor. OK obesity is a world problem, but it is a major problem for both FtM and MtF.

I sort of love all of you guys and gals and I don't want to lose any of you!!!

Great idea, there is so much doom mongering.  I'm 5' 7" and 140 lbs.  That puts my BMI in the middle of the green band so I'm very happy with it.  I don't really diet, just take care what I eat and it helps that I like fruit and vegetables.  Last year I started regular exercise and I do 25 minutes every morning.  I thought people my age were supposed to talk to their doctor before taking up exercise but I didn't bother.  I'm 64 and I'm just starting to learn about flirting.

Keeping in shape is good for you, in body and mind. I cycle around 50-60 miles a week. and it makes a big difference to me.would like to go swimming as well but i dont quite have the confidence to wear a swimming costume just yet. :angel:

Yeah well I took you to a bit of task-- but not too much. There are a lot more of you gals than us guys! But T is hard on the bp and cholesterol (and also weight). I have lost a bit of weight but really don't need to lose so much. I am also doing exercise and eating properly. The only pure fats I eat is olive oil. And eat mostly chicken, turkey, or fish (red meat very lean cuts). Also doubled the amt of veggies and eat more fruit as well. It's nothing extreme. The kind of diet everybody should be on!

I don't wear a swim suit but more as I haven't had top surgery (Oct 29!!!).
