I've been away from this forum for quite a long time.

Sounds like you've got a very understanding wife that understands your needs :) My late wife and I used to do the same thing at times. She never had any qualms about me going out dressed with her. But unlike you, she had no restrictions of locations. As my therapist at that the time would say, I had no inhabitations, so I didn't really care who saw me. But then why should I, when even back then I was thinking about going full time and psychologically in my mind I would be just be living my life as a woman.

Wow, that's wonderful.  Congratulations on hanging in there and working things through with your wife.  Both you and she are special and loving people.  Thank you for sharing.  It gives some of us hope who are in similar situations.

Hugs

Jen

Wow Donna... congratulations  ;D...

I think one of the biggest challenges is the recognition "at home"... I say this because it was more difficult for me to comment with my wife, I leave the first "outside" away from home  ::)...

Still can not say 100% that it accepts my crossdressing... but tolerates much I wear "Sttefanne" ... although, at first, his main concern was with our daughter  :icon_chick:...

Pretty cool for you both Donna, my wife turned that corner a while back, it was a looooong slooooow process but worth exercising extreme patience on my part rather than trashing the marriage.

At this point I am more overjoyed than I can express. I feel such a great sense of peace that I can hardly express the depth of my elation.
I Love My Wife
She Loves Me, no matter how I dress.

You are right, about that "looooong slooooow process", but I think we are finally at the happy place.
The good news for us as a couple is that we are so close in size we can share maybe 75% of our clothes.
My shoulders are naturally a little wider, and her hips are naturally a little wider, but we can share so much.
We both must ask first, of course.

I'm not a dresser and only wear bras and women's tops, but because of my chest size I look like hell in a dress so I pass on that. You have a nice bod to hang clothes on though so cool for you hon! Having been on feminizing HRT for many years I had a lot of other issues that created hoops I had to jump through at home, but lots of long conversations and plenty of TLC has paid dividends in the long run.

Shantel,
You seem to be in a good place in your life right now.
Thank you for your kind comments and input. That Avatar picture of me was taken about 15 years ago. I gained about 30 pounds in weight until a few months ago when I went back on heavy exercise walking and running program. I had invested so much money in a fantastic wardrobe back then! I can happily say I never "purged" any of my things. I kept them. Now, I am able to fit back in to all of my favorite things. I am back to my best girly weight now. That dress in my Avatar picture fits me well again. But that kind of thing is more of a party dress. When I go out with my wife now, it will be understated. I truly, and sincerely want her to the best looking girl between the two of us.
I love this place to both give and find support.
My wife is no longer afraid to go out with me in public!
She is so beautiful. I wish I had a face as pretty as hers, but that just would not work totally because she likes it when I look like that 60 year old weathered surfer dude that I am.
I get to be both now!

If I were to honestly report, this has been the happiest I've been since:
1 - Since I married my wife nearly 40 years ago
2 - My son was born
3 - My daughter was born.

This sounds like a Love Letter to my wife.
I guess it is.

She sounds like a real darling woman and a real "keeper"! Love the dress in your avatar, it looks stunning on your nice frame. I recently bought a dozen scoop neck 97% cotton 3% spandex tank tops that look and fit me just like that through the bodice, I'm getting rid of some very stubborn love handles on the 14th so that should make the visual effect even better coupled with my female attributes. During the summer months I like to wear tanks with no bra, skinny jeans and sandals it can create a quiet riot at times depending on time and place!  ;D

You mentioned "Purging." I know several people who routinely go through the guilt thing or who have fears that they have taken things too far and routinely send a small fortune in female wardrobes to Goodwill and then turn around a month later and start rebuilding it. I tell them to just box everything up and I will store it all for them because I know that they will have regrets and I could save them a lot of money. Funny how the human mind works at times though isn't it?

However, I own a veritable gold mine of 1980's era high waisted tight blue jeans, the kind that can make anyone look slim waisted, even a cross dressing man! Low rise jeans have been horrible for women and the men who admire them. Just imagine slim high waisted women's jeans that are tight and fitted at the slimmest part of the anatomy above the hips and below the ribs.

That in combination with short T's on women looks disgusting especially when the woman is a little chunky and the jeans shove hip fat up to appear as if she has love handles. I recently saw an attractive young woman so dressed, she bent over in front of me to pick up a package only to reveal the better part of her posterior and a black lace thong. I felt a need to shield my eyes and lower my gaze it was in such poor taste! The designer of women's styles must have a secret dislike for the female form and the lack of good style sense of some. Not that I'm an expert, but I do know what looks good on a woman and the belly button gals are missing the boat.

I Love My Wife
She follows this thread, since I shared it with her and she now has shared it with her therapist. I think this counselor was better for my wife than the herbal Star of Bethlehem or herbal Rescue Remedy that she was taking, and that caused me to hallucinate when I took it.

Yes, it is my body in my avatar with another woman's face because my wife suggested internet privacy concerning facial recognition.

Your spouse is a sweetheart and a real keeper, be sweet to her always, she deserves it!  :eusa_clap: That's how I revere my spouse.

Concerning privacy, you notice that you really can't see much of my face in my avatar, It's intentional. I'l never run for political office and don't have to worry about prospective employers snooping me out, but I do expect certain anonymity from those who might use my GID issues against me at some point. Personally I think it's smart not posting mug shots on the Internet. I am flamboyant among friends but a private individual in public.

You're so lucky! Once i put one of my girlfriends panties in front of her just for joking and she didn't talk to me for few hours.. I guess not everyone is as open-minded as your wife. Congratulations!

Although we've had our moments, my wife is supportive. We went out for Halloween with me en femme and had a blast. Still nervous about coming out, though. That being said I think the day is coming. Really getting tired of the closet.

It does get a bit cramped in there. C'mon out when you are ready.
