So today I got to pull the ultimate shocker! (for entirely educational reasons)
A room full of graduate entry medics (including me) are discussing the ethics and correct approach to a suspected trans patient...
They are actually doing pretty well, but they have a few things a bit wrong...
So I stand up and say "well of course I know a bit about this because I had an undiagnosed intersex condition - and I transitioned about 30 years ago in my early twenties. So just bear in mind that trans and intersex people are not some strange - out there - group. They can also, unknown to you, be your esteemed and trusted colleagues!"
Cue several tens of medical jaws hitting the floor in total and utter dumbfounded astonishment! ;D Priceless moment. They get it now.
That was fun!
Nice work, hon! Hugs, Devlyn
