Title: A...Hairy Situation
Post by: Nygeel on September 29, 2013, 01:04:30 AM
I am in the unfortunate process of losing my hair. I recently went to my favorite place for hair cuts and told the guy the basics of what I like in a cut. I like a fade on the back and sides because I have a short neck (I don't like the back rounded or squared off). As for the top, I told him I wanted my hair to look less like it was thinning. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, but I think it's better than what I had. What do you think? And is there any way to get your hair cut that hides thinning?

i know a guy who's been wearing a hat since he was twenty. seems to be the most common way to hide thinning, other than a wig.

the thinning looks manly on you though...

There's always the classic 'buzz it all the way' that many who are losing their hair opt for (this has been on my mind a lot lately, hehe, and it terrifies me). Seems the shorter the hair, the less noticeable the thinning.

And just for what it's worth, I think the post-haircut look suits you much better than the before version.

LOL confidence

My problem with buzz cuts and really short hair is that I've got a weirdly shaped head. My skull shape is really...it's shaped like a lopsided roof. It's either completely flat section, or a defined ridge where two flat sections meet. It's scary to think that my best route at some point will be to buzz off all my hair.

theres always the hat :/ or medical treatments, however the medical treatments that actually work seem to be expensive, and i have no clue as to your financial situation.

as to your "LOL confidence" youre a good looking lad nyg, nothing to be unconfident about :) (not that my opinion or anyone else's can change how you view yourself) but its true, nonetheless

I been told to eat beer-powder for my hair.
like you mix it in yogurt or something but im not sure if it actually gonna make a diffrence or just something they say like eat ginger when your sick.

I think the only thing for sure is doing the hair treatment but again its expensive, so my only cheap advice would just be to be carefull, not to put all kind of strange chemicials in your hair and so. I also heard its better to stick to 1 certain shampoo rather than trying out diffrent once.

I've heard its better to not use the same shampoo, that variety is better for the hair.

Have you considered Finasteride for hair loss?

Your hair looks good to me, it works on you. But just try out some remedies for thinning hair and all that stuff. I'm afraid of that happening to me once I start T.

Not quite. The opposite, in fact.

It's not an option (yay for not having much money and not 100% set on accepting possible negative side effects).
