Today I had my appointment at Fenway Health. To my surprise my doctor gave my the note refering me to have an Orchiectomy. Next up is talking with my therapist and having him write a letter for it. YEY big step forward today!!!

Congrats! :D
With all due respect I have never figured out the whole orchie thing. I mean say it costs $2000 dollars and still leaves one with mismatched parts.
One of the decent doctors in Thailand charges a bit over 10,000 for SRS and your done.

@ Katie: I did mine to reduce the amount of medication I take. Spiro is hard on the system of older transitioners.
@Bethany: Save your money. I have a rusty knife here somewhere and some Jack Daniels. Congratulations. (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FAnimals%2Fferret-3.gif&hash=f49e2f86761323f2abd9c33941920389dbb3b10f)

Katie, Because of some other health issues that I have to live with, full SRS is out of the question. While having an Orchiectomy done will help prevent me from developing blood clots. Because I will no longer need Spiro and in turn my Estrodol prescription can be lowered.
Also on having things done in Thailand. Yes the surgery may cost just over $10,000 but then throw in the cost of the flights, hotel, and food for how ever long you might need to stay. All while you are trying to recover from a very invasive surgery really does not make that much sense to me. I'd rather recover in the comfort of my own home.
