I don't have any baby dolls or anything that is explicitly maternity. That said, I did get asked if I was pregnant a short while back. It actually made me tremendously happy, but that is another story...

I've got a couple of empire waist things, one of which is a dress that I think looks a little odd because of the high waist line. So, I usually wear a waistcoat with it to disguise the fact that it's empire.

What made them think you were pregnant?  Hugs Shannon

I stopped using breast forms a year ago and now I only wear a padded bra. And I'm a little overweight. So my A-cup breasts don't stick out any farther than my belly. I actually took a picture of myself once posed as if I were pregnant. It's something I'll never have, and that saddens me, even though I don't really want to start over and I have 2 wonderful adult kids whom I love tremendously.

I call this picture, "The Impossible Dream."

I'm leaning way back to really force the pregnant look. The cardigan helps with that as it just hangs off my shoulders, hiding the fact that I'm leaning backward.

The tunic I'm wearing has an empire waist, and this was pretty much the outfit (minus the cardigan) I was wearing when I got asked if I was pregnant.

Really, I think it's just a coincidence that I don't own much empire stuff. It's not like I've actively sought to not buy such things. Although I don't think babydolls would look right on me. I think I'm just too old for that style.
