FEAR
Fear what are you afraid of and how much does it cost you in everyday happiness?
This is the best descriptions of fear that i have ever came accoss.
I am fear. i am the menace that lurks in the path of life, never visible to the eye but sharply felt in the heart!
I am the father of despair, the brother of procrastination, the enemy of progress, the tool of tyranny. Born of ignorance and nursed on misguided thought. I have darkened more hopes, stiffled more ambitions. shattered more ideals and prevented more accomplishments than history could record!
Like the changing chameleon, I assume many disguises. I masquerade as caution. I am sometimes known as doubt or worry!
But whatever i am called, I am still fear, the obstacle of achievment. I know no master only one its name is "understanding".
I have no power but what the human mind gives me, and i vanish completly when the light of understanding reveals the facts as they really are, for i am really nothing. By Michael G'Francisco i think?
"You see, if you have the courage to acknowladge your fears, you will be taking the first step towards controlling them insted of them controlling you. And if you take the next step toward understanding, you will be able to move past them to empathy, prehaps even to love!"
Time to stop the I CAN'T or the BUTT. Its I CAN and I WILL live for me.
Izzy
you write very nice poetry.
hugs
Fantastic! Great job and it's true. :)
You need to credit the author for that.
I'm fond of the Bene Gesserit take on fear.
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
Thank you Frank, your work will always be the greatest literature I have ever read.

I seen this in another forum, I also did a search and it shows up in many sites and i did a search and can not seem to come to the true owner of this. I have found
www.thespiritualwaytoovercomingaddiction.com/overcoming-fear.html
www.paretorealtyllc.com › Pareto Realty
portmacquarie-counselling.blogspot.com/2010/11/i-am-fear.htm
www.funonthenet.in
etc, etc, etc. I just seen this and felt it fit so much about fear and wanted to share, you can remove it if you wish.

Thanks. I am learning that friend (fear) was really not a friend at all.

I also like this one. I kinda put this up being lately there has been so many who are so hung up on fears. Just trying to put it in the light is belongs.

a calendar reminded me a few days ago that "your secrets make you lonely".
it's about time i start coming out to people so i can live without fearing that they'll find out.......

Do things in there own time, if today, tommorrow or the next is better then do it, but do not let the fear keep you from being true to yourself.

Was thinking not a bad time to bump this one back out.
false
evidence
appearing
real
Thank you, I am still working on fear, making progress and learning. Fear is the real F word.
Here is something i learned about fear
Find the worst possible event, the one you fear the most.
You will invariably fall to things like hell, your soul going into limbo being abandoned by whichever god you pray to. But always you will go to one thing
Death.
All fear death because it means a finality to your chance of doing something for your soul, the end of your story.
So what happens if you stop fearing death? Fear looses its grip on you. What was built can be rebuilt, what was earned can be re earned. You have your life so there is always another chance.
Fear is an enemy of that, fear will only make you waste that life. Call it karma or destiny, fear will only have you fail it.
And the beauty about fear is YOU have a choice.
A choice as to how much fear you want in your life.
YOU have a choice between fear and LOVE.
I don't know about you; I chose LOVE.
What will YOU choose?
Thinking of you all
Love
Catherine
There is far more suffering to be had in constantly fearing what is beyond your control than there is in its materialization.
I like what I'm reading here.
Unfounded fears are useless. Some fears, however, are manifestations of common sense and self-preservation.
There are neighborhoods in which I would not walk alone at night (and some in broad daylight). I would not get into a stranger's panel van. I would not set myself on fire and put the video on the internet. Fearing the potential outcome of things like this is a good thing.
I also have an unfounded fear of flying because of a near disaster I was once in and the PTSD it caused me.
Knowing the difference is the key.
