Right on time, at 10:30 a.m., the 400 or motorcyclists were off and roaring, marking the official start of the 37th annual lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual parade. Thousands of spectators lined Market Street. Stoplights were to be ignored. Helmets and clothing were optional.
Dykes on bikes always start the parade in Boston too. I saw them this year. There weren't 400 bikes, though.
I wanted to hug everybody in the parade except those men in leather underwear. Nothing against them, but they had oil on their skin.
