Title: getting worried
Post by: amyallen on October 14, 2013, 02:21:52 AM
Hello ladies im Amy, Ive been on hrt for 6 months now and im getting worried, my body has transformed amazingly im just starting to get my curves, my waist is shrinking so fast! But a little bit about myself im 18 years young I live in Sunny California though its not always sunny in my eyes. Lately ive been down, my face is still rather masculine/ androgynous than female. I see all these other girls on youtube that are totally fem and passable by 6 months yet im not there yet. Could it be my dosages? Now that I think about it I started hrt at a very low does of estridol and  spironolactone I stayed at this dose for 3 months. They told me that was a normal dosage for patients so ive only been on a normal dose for 3 months technically. I have my 3 month check up apt. this friday so hopefully they raise my dosage a little. Any tips or advice, I look forward to haring from you ladies!

Hey Amy, and welcome.
First off, these posts tend to go into the intro section (it'll no doubt get a modtow) just for future reference.
Second, give those hormones to work their magic! I don't know if I read it right, but it seems that you've been on them for a total of 6 months now. Usually it takes around about 2 years for them to reach their maximum effect. Let it be and wait it out a bit longer, they're still working, give it a little time and patience. Easier said than done, of course, but there's nothing much else you can do yet.
You'll soon become the beautiful woman you are inside.

Sounds pretty darn good for stage you are at, esp as you have been on a low dosage for half that time!

Yep, I think we are pretty much *all* there. Goes with the territory. It's hard to accurately answer without knowing what you look like but it sounds like you are doing well though. Besides, worrying and comparing wont make the result better, so why worry? Doing everything you can to push aside worries from your mind and trying to be confident *will* have a positive effect on your perceived femininity though, so if you really want the best result, that's what you should do! I found that a lot of the best changes that I have had, have been non HRT related. Things like posture, attitude, smiling, make up, learning what hair styles, accessories, even clothing, etc. do what to shape your face, blah blah blah. If you want to progress, focus on these things and the HRT will do whatever the HRT does. Honestly though, at your age and from what you say, you should be fine.

Good luck with it :-)
