I suppose the title of this thread kinda' is self explanatory.
I will add a bit more info since you clicked the link. I am currently seeing a psychologist for depression and since day one I have explained to him that GD is the root of my depression. To his credit, the doctor openly acknowledges that he is not an expert in gender identity. Our visits have been good for my depression but when it comes to my GD, I feel like a teacher. It is actually kinda' cute how he uses antiquated terms.
Anyway, he is trying to find me a new psychologist. The one he knew about retired last year. So he got me the name of another psychologist. I will call his office on Monday and ask some questions. However, after a brief web search, it seems he has only been practicing for 5 years and I can't link his name to trans keywords like gender identity or dysphoria.
So, while he is worth talking to (completely covered by my insurance), he does not seem to be a perfect candidate on paper. I am trying to explore other options as well but I am having the darnedest time. Are there any online resources that list psychologists by city and state and areas of expertice?

Heh, I waited all weekend only to discover that most psychologists work Saturday and take Sunday and Monday off. Guess I will wait until tomorrow. Transition involves a lot of waiting. Sheesh! I am starting to see why people get impatient.
I did learn a great resource. Contact your local LBGT advocacy groups and ask for advice. The place I contacted actually referred me to a psychologist who helped found the group I called. Worth waiting an extra day.
