Title: OPI Nail Lacquer, just love this polish, any one else?
Post by: FrancisAnn on October 20, 2013, 05:40:46 AM
So happy, such nice polish, wider brush, excellent formula, so easy to apply & lots of lighter shade colors.

Long time old style Revlon girl however this polish is just great.

If you have not used it. Give it a try. Have fun.

By the way I placed a link to my facebook page with pic of Marilyn Monroe, kind of cool new FB page.

Personally, my favorite so far is "the Queen's Might" by Loreal. I have one pink OPI (the name eludes me) I adore too, that was a gift from my sister.

As to Revlon, I love their scented nail polishes and have gotten many of my cis-girl friends into it. ;D

Cool, all are fun. I love to do my nails & toe nails. I'm going to try lots of new colors with OPI this fall & winter. It applies so  easy.

Have fun girl friend

Scented polish??? I may try that, thanks. That would be a nice touch during the Holidays.

Cool, I'll look for that shade.

I dig it!

Really high quality stuff. Lasts forever. My wife had a pedicure with it back it early August and it's only now starting to chip. Craaaaazy!

Don't know much about nail polish yet, but I'll look into it. It sounds pretty.

I swear by UV/LED cure gels now.  Lasts 2-3 weeks.  Don't bother if you ever need to remove it quicky, as you need to soak in acetone for 10-15 mins to soften it up.

I have been using OPI nail polish for years. My favorite is 'Significant Other Color'. I'm now wearing 'Got THe Blues For Red' and I just purchased 'Lost On Lombard' from their 2013 fall collection. People (well, women) always think I have gel nails but they are my own nails. I just make them look fake :p
I'm embrassed however I did not know each shade had a name. One bottle I have just says "insytle red" Going shopping soon, this will be fun. It's such great polish. Easy to remove.

My favorite OPI nude color is Bubble Bath!!!  It's an extremely well known shade that matches the light pinks for french manicures.

And I am obsessed with the plums and pinks that OPI has!

OPI is my favorite!  I have been using Princesses Rule! lately.  I also loved Peach-a-Boo.

I just purchased some greens, purples & blues. I've been a bright red polish girl/woman all my life & maybe I'm too old to change. Red looks sexy, the other colors just look nice/funny??? I hate to realize it however I'm in my 50's, old woman by most of your standards.

If a young girl like most of you maybe a green might be my shade.

Thanks, have fun girl friends, we deserve it.

I love OPI! It's one of the few brands I have, though... I just tried "Insta-dri" and it's terrible. I wanted pink, though... and it's everywhere it shouldn't be and not even on the nail. Dried fast, though.

I have:

Can't find my Czechbook (peri) Love it!
Do you lilac it (lilac, duh) Good, but I wanted more of a lavender.
Coney Island Cotton Candy (pink) Basically nude on toenails.
Alpine Snow (white) Haven't used it yet... thought I could do a trans flag on the big toe :D

What nail hardener do people use? I'm using "Nutra Nail" but it takes FOREVER (we're talking 20-30 minutes and it's surface dry, but don't touch it with anything hard). Other than that I like it... but I need something better.

Just get used to doing things without touching the top of your nail, it's easy after a while. Before you know it it will be second nature after you do your nails.

My lovely spouse likes to raid my nail color shelf, but in return she shares her secret stash of OPI colors, same with her expensive hair products...I think she secretly likes having a "girlfriend" she can share things with ;)

Yeah... I do - but it's a real pain to do this for hours and I almost always end up nicking one.

I wish I was good enough to do that! The best I've done is using each digit as a color of the flag. French tipping is difficult enough to achieve!

I have to admit I now go for shellac, I get them done about every 8 weeks, and no chipping no smudge. The down side (for some) is that they are permanent. But look awesome!!!

I have bright purple at the moment!

Isn't this mostly about finding (and cutting) the right tape?

If you like OPI, check out China Glaze too. Lovely colours, good quality and very reasonable prices. I have somewhere between 200-300 nailpolishes. *blush*

Oh and always add a top layer of Seche Vite. Makes it dry much faster and makes the surface less sticky in seconds. :)

Kitten, you are way cool girl friend. Please have a great day. Thanks for posting a product to dry polish, I've never used any. I rarely get any smudge.

A few were added to my cart on Amazon - next order I *have* to make and they may ship too . . . ;)

Hahaha too sweet you!! You too! :D My life became 20% cooler once I discovered Seche Vite! Essie Good To Go is also a great option, they do tend to dry out halfways through the bottle but they're still easy to work with and they also leave the finish much smoother and prettier.

I don't do my nails anymore, they're cut super short and all natural (I just clean up and remove the cuticle), but I still remember my days with nail obsession (and I have some kilograms of nail polish as proof haha, can paint a car with all of it if I try). Nothing beats my absolute all-time favourite OPI Absolutely Alice. So so pretty.

Some of the glitters do require forever-and-a-half of waiting time but they're worth it. Same with OPI The Show Must Go On. No pictures can truly show how beautiful it is. Oh and China Glaze Ruby Pumps. Prettiest reds out there. By far.

I ♥ you too, Kittens :D or I did until I started adding all these colors to my cart ;)

I want to get a red for my daughter (4) who has asked... I assume these dry too slowly?

For me, I want OPI "Are we there yet." I'm looking for a dark peach, since I think it's my best color (a sweatshirt about that color is coming from Zulily soon... hope it fits - and comes before my therapy appointment Wednesday)!

I'm an OPI addict myself, although I posted my photos in the beauty / fashion subforum.

As for my current OPI:

Base + 2 layers + top coat. Did it on friday night, but it's already whitening on the tips. That's the price of washing the dishes, handwashing clothes, doing a lot of manual tasks, etc...

After painting your nails, dip them in ice water, they'll dry instantly. I had trouble nicking them while waiting for them to dry until I found this out.

Hahaha awwh ♥ The clue is to get a pigmented one coater for kids. They dry very fast! :) Look into Essie for those. Hands in ice water does also help yes, I always do that in addition to adding top coat, also to get rid of some of the smell.

And.. China Glaze, say no more! Especially for those who can't keep the same colour on their nails for more than a day or two. Chanel also makes good nail polish but in a whole other price range. I just like COLOURS! :D

I tried a little purple, at first it seemed funny but now kind of feels good. This will be a nice shade for winter time. Also bought a light blue, no, it's just the wrong time of the year for light blue, maybe in the spring.

It's fun either way, have fun OPI girl friends.
