Title: Questions about starting transition
Post by: Crystal_Marie on October 27, 2013, 11:58:54 AM
I have recently decided its time for me to stop living a lie. I have came out to my family and was surprised by the amount of support I'm receiving from them. I have also found a dr in the Houston area who would do hrt who doesn't require a therapist note but is suggested not sure where to find one. I have already started to buy undergarments to wear but I have a few questions.

In outer wear if I wear size 6 in panties would that be the same size in shorts pants and skirts? How do I figure what size tops to wear?

Body hair, I shave everything and to be honest I'm tired of still shaving my face is there a more "permanent" way to get rid out body/facial hair?

When is it a good time to fully come out at work or better yet start dressing more feminine at work or in public?

I'm sure that these topics might have been covered but I'm curious.

Personal opinion, coming out at work would probably be best after a few months of HRT.

As to getting rid of hair, yes there are ways to permanently remove it. Most use electrolysis or laser.

Welcome to Susan's. Have a cookie and look around.

There's a heap of resources on this great site, check them out for info, etc. Depending on your hair/skin type laser can help to permanently remove body/beard hair. If not suitable there's always electrolysis for the beard (permanent) and maybe waxing for the body (not permanent but a longer lasting solution to shaving and thins the hair). I'd suggest being on HRT for several months before coming out at work, plus try and find a gender counsellor/therapist, they will hopefully be invaluable.
