Just writing this to vent a little really.
So the huge grin from yesterday after getting my first T shot lasted 'till about half way through today. I thought this would be a roller coaster but didn't expect it to start after just 1 day. lol
I excitedly started looking at '1 week on T' vids so I could see the kind of things to expect, or not, as the case may be. Mega excited to hear how much can happen in a week. Albeit small stuff that only you can notice, but things none the less. People saying their throat was scratchy, fine white hairs in places, increase in appetite, urine smelling different, etc, etc. It seemed every video everyone was reporting something in the first week, however little and a lot of these were from the morning after the shot.
A lot of guys saying they woke the next morning thirsty, or with a scratchy throat or just generally feeling a little unwell etc.
Anyway, so far I have felt NOTHING!!!!! I wasn't worried at all to start off with. I was laughing thinking, oooh most people are feeling things, where as I find it hard to believe anything will happen as I can't feel anything. Knowing of course it will.
So I've got to the end of the day, and my hearts really sunk, thinking OMG what if my body just does nothing, literally nothing.
Stupid huh, after just 30 hours!!! The very slight stiffness in the muscle from the jab is now nearly gone, so I don't even have much of that to prove 'something' happened yesterday! I think it's a careful what you wish for situation as I think I'd prefer to get a negative side effect than nothing at all!!!!
I bet I'll be feeling the opposite in a few days when something finally does show up. Just feel right now like it won't happen and after yesterday's excitement feeling a little deflated. (It's not a hormonal mood swing, it's litterally, from me all of a sudden thinking, what if it doesn't happen).
Anyone else feel up and down this early? Just feels silly to be honest, but silly or not, the feeling's real.
Puzzled!!!!!!!!!!
from memory I didn't experience much either :p but a more gradual over time 'feeling more normal' thing happened, but that took a while before i noticed, smile and know you had your shot, its in your body, and its starting to work its magic :) congrats on your new birthday ;D
It's normal to feel a "letdown" after a big day. Don't Google one week on T videos, look at the long term results here. Just carry on with your life, your body doesn't change quickly, but it can change drastically. Hugs, Devlyn
PS I think there's a hair growing out of your ear.

Thanks Geek, very reassuring. :)
I guess there's also the obvious 'coming down' from the absolute massive high I was on yesterday!

Devlyn, you literally made me laugh out loud. Don't worry, I've trimmed the offending piece :D
Oh, I know what the long term results can be. I've also seen a couple where they are stuggling to get the needed changes. Looks like that's very, very, very rare. But of course, my tummy spins worrying that'll be me!!!!! I know it's mad after just over a day. Worrying about something very unlikely to happen.

I wondered who that was I spotted right outside my window. I'm being spied on!!!!!!!! :D
If it make you feel any better, I have always been dubious of those 1 week in claims. Ive never brought it up, because to the people that have a beard, genital growth and deep voice the day after T it IS real to them. My changes took months and years. So dont feel disheartened. in a month you will notice some changes, dont get caught up in expecting something sooner.
I just reread your post - 30 hours? Youve been on T for 30 hours? Well I cant really lecture, I am a pretty impatient person too....but 30 hours is nothing.
Hey man,
I know exactly how you feel. In fact, I posted something similar after a few weeks I had started. Finally starting is so exciting, and I was watching so many videos and like you said, all of them report something happening in the first few weeks. It made me even more excited as I eagerly awaited all those things and then....nothing much happened.
My advise would be, don't watch those videos. Most of them report placebo effects. It is all in their heads. That doesn't make it less real because to them it is real, but do not expect the same results. All they do is make you insecure. What if my body does not react to the T? What if my body is very, very slow? All those questions pop up when you watch those videos.
Thing is, things will happen. But they will happen at your pace, not anyone else's. The guys on youtube are a very small selection of guys who are on T. You don't know how quickly or slowly the silent guys saw changes.
Try not to expect too much too soon, try to relax and enjoy the ride.

Hey thanks Chuck and Mr X, your comments really did make my worry subside a little. I just was not expecting to feel so anxious so soon. I just thought I'd be elated, so I'm surprised. I know it's mad, but mad or not the feeling's real.
I'm not after quick changes, I really want to enjoy each and every little thing as it happens. I just didn't expect to feel so 'normal', it really is like nothings changed in my system. Then I got all panic'y that maybe T just won't work for me. I've seen that happen, where guys don't get much happening even after well over a year.
I will try and stay calm and wait it out :D
It is incredibly frustrating, you wait for ages and you watch all these videos, and then you finally get on T and life just carries on as normal.
I'm 5 months on T and only now am I starting to get SMALL changes, my voice broke after about 3 months, but apart from that I'm only now finally getting increases in muscle mass and body hair, and that is happening slow. You just gotta be patient, it really does suck though!
Everyone is different but I'm pretty sure most of those video's are exaggerations, your body just can't and doesn't change that quickly.
Make yourself videos that's what I found made me feel better, I couldn't notice any changes day to day but by taking photos and videos every few weeks I could see the small changes and it made me feel more positive. Otherwise the best thing you can do, as difficult as it is, is forget your on hormones. You're just a dude going through puberty now, try not to examine the mirror for changes, just sit back and relax knowing you're heading in the right direction, and that slowly but surely you will notice things and it'll make you feel great after you've waited so long for them! It's only when you stop looking for the changes, you'll stop noticing them, and that's when you really feel good, because you don't have to worry and think about your transition and passing, you're just your average guy now!
All the best man

Thanks Elliot, great advice there, and very encouraging to hear changes can be slow for some, but that they do happen. I will try my best to just relax and let it happen in it's own time :D

Matt! What did I tell you! LOL It's hard. And can be very disappointing. Best thing you can do is not watch videos and not obsess! Which is what I did for quite some time!
Hmmm yes Nick I remember very well when you started T, and did notice you started posting a lot of questions. I was thinking of that as I was worrying myself.
I'm a little more calm now, thanks to some great pep talks from people on here. I also know that it's still too early, just yesterday I couldn't help but worry. I think I was expecting to be feeling a little different to normal in some way.
Yes I've stopped watching videos now as I know they will only make me more anxious. I am sitting tight and waiting :)
Thanks for your post and your thoughts etc :) I hope you're well?
Take those 1 week on t videos with a grain of salt. It's easy to attribute so many things to testosterone because as soon as someones on it they start to think everything is because of it. An increase in appetite probably just means they're a little hungrier that day, a change in urine smell could be something they ate, and those few stray hairs? Probably just went unnoticed before. It's easy to get excited and overzealous about things but the fact of the matter is it takes multiple days for something like t to completely enter the bloodstream and for your body to start responding.
tl;dr: you'll see changes soon. Be happy you're finally on the hormones and dont get all caught up in the negative!
