As an "old timer" (SRS in 1974) I remember our "pioneers", the people who came before me, when treatment and support was nearly non-existant. I remember the ones who spoke out on radio, television, and in print to make people aware of something that most people knew nothing about. I remember the ones who marched down the street in some of the first public protests to raise awareness and to pressure "the powers that be" to help us.

I remember how many of those people died at their own hand because there was NO help. I remember too many funerals.

These are OUR "war dead".
