Germany allows third 'indeterminate' sex in European first
November 1st,
Parents in Germany will be allowed to give their child an 'indeterminate' sex should they be born with both male and female sex traits, in a European first.
The country's parliament ruled on the law in January but it only came into effect today.
The change was championed by advisory group the German Ethics Council, which had urged the government to make the modification so parents wouldn't feel pressured into choosing a sex soon after birth.
