Title: Hello!
Post by: RachelAnne on November 04, 2013, 11:05:29 PM
Hello to everyone! As a new member I am sure that my story is likely very similar to at least a few others here. Longtime struggling with who I really was, embracing the person I needed to be, and transitioning a bit over eight years ago.
Over the years I have glimpsed at this forum a few times. I could honestly count them on one hand but while researching voice surgery I got hooked. There is so much valuable info that I am going to need rather soon. I am planning on going to Korea after Christmas and I have a bunch of questions about concerns I have not seen addressed about Seoul. Especially questions about avoiding the Japanese style toilets.

Hi Rachel!

Welcome to the family. Since you've actually been here awhile you're like a lost relative I never knew I had. Glad you decided to say hi.

I spent three years in Japan, the toilets are like American ones. A little smaller, but pretty much the same thing. On the fancy ones there are buttons that do things (like spray clean water or blow air to dry you), those have pictures so they're pretty self-explanatory. Maybe I don't know about something fancy about toilets in Korea? I only ever went through the Korean airport, so I can't say anything about what it's like there. Seems nice though.

Make yourself at home. I hope you can find your answers.

love,
-maggie

Hi RachelAnne!  Glad you decided to join up.

Jenny's "Yeson" topic is fantastic!  It adds an entirely new dimension for our MtF transitioners.

Here are some links to help you navigate the site:

Greetings to you.

It should be required reading!

Hi Rachel Anne! I am glad you chose our family and you have officially been adopted. A word of warning though, this family is so addictive it is very easy to lose track of time here. I look forward to getting to know you better in the postings. We have a great group of people here who will help however they can in your journey. BIG HUG!  :)

Hi Rachel, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 8294 members. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FAnimals%2Fferret-3.gif&hash=f49e2f86761323f2abd9c33941920389dbb3b10f)

Wow!
Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I am sure that I will find many wonderful girls and tons of information from those of you who paved the way.

I have tried to read as much of Jenny's Yeson info as I could. Hopefully I can get a few recommendations to aid me on my trip there. I will have a travel companion as I will be taking my daughter. She was born in Seoul, adopted at birth, and this will be her first visit home. Unfortunately, neither of us speak the language.

Sure to be an adventure!

Hugs to all,

Rachel
