Title: CAMH in Toronto
Post by: beaver on November 06, 2013, 08:51:25 PM
I went to my school counselor to figure out what steps I should take to settle my gender identity stuff, and she has directed me to CAMH (adult program). I will be going to my physician to get a referral to CAMH soon. I know the place has gotten some really bad rep over the years, but the last stuff I've seen was from 2009. I see a complete change of psychologists working at the GIC now, according to the website. Has anyone hear of recent stuff coming from CAMH that I should be aware of, or any reasons I might want to stay away from it?

I haven't had any first hand experience, but from what I've read it sounds like they've cleaned up their act.  The problem now apparently is the waiting list.  Good luck  :)

Thanks Paige. That really eased my mind, I was feeling somewhat nervous about it.
