So right now my electrolysist recommends that I do either weekly 1 hour sessions OR biweekly 2 hour sessions.
Pain isn't a problem in the equation for me right now. I seem to be tolerating it just fine.
Money and time however are. The nearest reputable electrolysist that I can find is in Atlanta, GA. That's a 4 hour drive there and back for me and $40 in fuel. That's in addition to her $95 an hour session charge. I can't afford more than about $200 a month right now. That and I'm going through a divorce which is eating up a good bit of my money getting easy for.
I also have some other health related things that I need taken care of which will need more money up front but less in the long run. My quote for a full facial clearance was 60 hrs or $6000. The other thing I need done will cost $1000 and is billed in $300 sessions with a final Followup.
So for you other ladies out there how often do you go and would it be doable to do bimonthly 2 hour sessions until my finances clean up a bit? Advice please because I feel like I can't far enough away from the problem to see a way out.
Have you looked into laser at all? It's much cheaper than electrolysis and I've had amazing results with it.
I'm doing 15 mins every 2 weeks. Every week seems like a lot of stress on the skin, especially 2 hours at a time.

Sorry for being off-topic here, but is that you in your avatar?? Amazing tattoo!
Sadly no, my breasts are no way near that point yet. Tattoo is awesome, i'm thinking of getting it done next year :)

I'm a strawberry blonde. I have some dark red hairs but really not much for a laser to work with.
Otherwise yeah there's a place here in Augusta that does men's beards with a laser locally.
Right now I'm doing laser for the dark hairs (approx 6 sessions left, 4-5 weeks apart) and electrolysis for lighter and white hairs once a week for an hour. I'm getting my laser done by someone who teaches it as a school and was referred by my electrologist. Basically I'll do laser till it's not effective anymore. Last week I did laser on Tuesday and electrolysis on Thursday. My face was more sensitive from the laser earlier in the week, so electrolysis was a little more painful. Fortunately, that doesn't happen every week. As each week goes by, it gets better and better. Last night I went out androgynous feme, and with just a light base of makeup, no shadow until next afternoon, even then it was very light. Can't wait to start HRT in 3 or 4 weeks.
While I can afford it 1 1/2hrs weekly, been doing that for a little while. The tech likes to give skin a two week break so we have been rotated, left face, right face, south pole. Repeat.
Three hours every two weeks. It is seriously going to break the bank though... I'm going to see if I can't extend my mortgage and increase funds that way. Still got about 100 hours to go (hopefully fewer).
Due to budget constraint, i use the following method as i feel its the most cost efficient way, it is to go for full clearing for any particular section you have selected be it the upper lip, lower lip, or chin for each of the session.
The reasoning goes like this, electrolysis works for hair mostly in the anagen stage, so if u clear a particular section eg upper lip in the 1st month. You can concentrate on another section eg lower lip for the next session in the 2nd month and using whatever remaining time leftover for the upper lip regrowth. Then in the 3rd month go for the chin.
You will have up to 16 wks interval of anagen stage for the regrowth period for the first section from the time of the 1st clearing. So in the 4th month go back to the 1st full clearing section and proceed for the 2nd full clearing of that particular section.
You can space session closer together if your budget allows, just aim for full clearing of whatever section done and do the next full clearing within 16 weeks. This way is to can ensure the hairs cleared subsequently are all in the anagen stage, making the whole process more cost effective as you dont waste any time on the talogen and catagen hairs during the subsequent sessions.
Also point to note this that E will slow down the regrowth process, decrease the pain threshold. Plus also the tech skill play a important role, her kill ratio for treated hair, can varies from 30percent to 90 percent .
