Hey everyone I thought I'd just share this as it really made my day today and I wasn't expecting it. I don't really go out too often and this was the first time something like this has ever happened to me!
So, during the afternoon I was heading up the elevator to my music lesson for guitar when this woman said to her child "watch out for the lady". I was really surprised and really happy at the same time as I am pre-everything at the moment and I wasn't even trying to present as female. She did take another glance at me and apologized for saying "lady" and it did sort of upset me as I felt like that was the appropriate word but obviously she didn't intentionally mean it. Also, we did end up having a nice little chat so I'm pretty sure my voice itself gave it away, haha. Nonetheless, this really gives me hope that I'll one day be able to pass as female and just be me! :)
She hadn't mistaken you for a girl, she got it right. :)
Cuz you ARE a girl. :)

My thoughts exactly. I was going to say "You mean someone didn't mis-gender you."
it happens and feels beautiful
Congrats!!! :D It's a wonderful feeling - (the most I've gotten so far are double-takes where I'm obviously regendered as male).

My first thought too!
Properly gendered, as the others have said, when you weren't even trying! Congratulations! *happy dance*
Um, yeah, you pass. Especially if your profile picture is anything like you are in "real life". That must have been SO validating when that happened. I'm happy for you.

No profile picture there, she only has 3 posts. :)
Yeah it's only happened to me 2-3 times, before transitioning, but it was great. :) Gave me the warm fuzzies lol. So grats! I would definitely take it as a sign of being destined to pass!
That used to be the best part of pre transition for me... expecting a he but getting a she :)
Hehe, thanks everyone! This genuinely put a smile on my face which is quite rare. :P
And yes, she did get it right even though she didn't know! ^_^
It used to happen to me daily before I started transitioning.
