I am going to finally start my Laser Hair Removal treatment tomorrow. While I am so excited about it, I am also very nervous. There are so many questions going on in my mind.
1) What do I expect? The doctor was nice and patient to explain everything. But, you know the always lingering doubt and general scariness.
2) Will I get good results? I know YMMV, but no harm keeping my fingers crossed.
3) I haven't told anyone in the office yet. Will people notice a major difference?
4) I am so hoping that it does not hurt. But will it?
Just a little background. I am going in for a full face treatment including - the neck area, chin, upper and lower lips, and the side burns. The entire treatment is going to set me back about $650 for six sessions using the Nd-Yag machine. The amount is a BIG hole in my pocket, but I guess, totally worth it considering it will make me feel more comfortable with myself.
I will post again tomorrow to share how the treatment went.
stay happy everyone ..
xoxo Sneha
Not too shabby in terms of price. My understanding is that as long as you have dark hair and pale skin you should have rather good results. Don't expect hair to start falling out the day after. More like after each treatment a few hairs will decide not to regrow with more succumbing to peer pressure after each treatment. I haven't messed much with my face yet, so I can't say how others will react, but in general people don't notice things like this especially if you stay clean shaven normally.
Lastly, it will hurt. You are trying to burn your hair follicles to death which requires heat. It is bearable though and short lived. Also, as you start reducing the amount of hair, it will hurt less as there is less hair to absorb the energy. So each treatment will be slightly easier then the last.
Good luck

So each treatment will be slightly easier then the last.
I did 5 treatments earlier in the year, spaced 4 weeks apart. It took about 10-15 days after each to see the difference. I wiped out most of the dark ones, but some are persistent and keep growing back but thinner. All of the red/blond/gray ones and regrowth are being taken out via electrolysis.
Each laser treatment got progressively worse for me, as they turned up the heat each time. The first one was easy, but the last one was turned up to 11 and yeowwww!!! I hear it's more likely to end up growing back with laser than with electro, but the laser will get you "passable" much faster.
After 45 hours of electro and an additional laser session, I am now getting cleared almost completely with every electro session now. It just sucks that stuff still keeps growing back. At times it seems like we're just playing whack-a-mole with my face. I keep hoping that each session is my last, but so far it's not happening. Back I go on Tuesday...
