Title: Guidance needed for a pan cisman dating an FtM
Post by: ggg_cisguy on November 18, 2013, 05:30:08 AM
Hello all,

I am a pansexual cisguy, beginning to date an FtM guy. I have never dated a transperson before. I really like this guy and consider him LTR dating material.

I know enough to know that I don't really know anything about FtM folk. What I want is any advice from other men or anyone in general about dating an FtM person. I guess I would like a primer, if such a thing exists. What issues should I to be extra sensitive/understanding about? How can I be supportive of him?

I tried to search the internet for articles and resources for men dating FtM guys, but could not find what I'm looking for. If anyone has any relevant links, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

I'm a cis female dating a ftm and It can be a lot to gather at first however if you attend your partners therapy sessions and doctors visits it helps so much.. you will gather a big understanding and it will make your relationship stronger. Every trans person is different so I can't really tell you if there are things you should be extra sensitive about that is something you should sit down and ask your bf. Everyone in general has their own comfort zones and things that can make them uncomfortable its really no different then any other relationship.  Feel free to msg me if you need someone to talk.

Hi there! Brit has given you some pretty good information, but the best thing to do is talk talk talk :D I'm a cis-female and I have been with my ftm partner for a long time (they were presenting as female when we got together) and it's been the one thing that has helped me to identify where he may need support or even just a few kind words. I'm always here if you want to PM about anything :)
