My mom is very helpful, understanding and more. My dad though passed away 2 to 3 months ago was almost the same way. My mom and dad has seen me do very non boyish things or want such. Me shaving my arms for example is one of them. I told my mom yesterday there are days and many of them that I'd pay 500$ to buy a tria to eliminate the hair off my face permanently. She than tried to relate by telling she wishes she could do that to her legs with the hair. Me wanting long hair and it thinning and me getting sad often over it, my mom has helped me go and start getting thinning gone. She knows just like my dad knew/knows I want long hair. They don't attack me and are accepting of it. Many parents are not sadly. I wish more parents were as accepting.

I lost my father many years ago. I'm not certain how he would have handled my transition; I imagine he would have been confused, hurt, and shouted a lot. In many ways he was very abusive to me, growing up. It took his death for me to realize just what he meant to me despite that. It took the birth of my daughter for me to realize how much, underneath the anger and despair, he loved me.
So, give your mom a big hug from me, OK? And congratulations. :)

Oh, that's wonderful! Thumbs up, hi five, flowers, wine & chocolate for your parents! I'm sorry for the loss of your dad...but really glad that his acceptance is one of the wonderful things you have to remember him by.
There is nothing better than having family and friends who are supportive. I too am also very blessed. My Dad has been great, as has my stepmom and my step brothers and sister. I'm sure my mom would have been also; but sadly she past away eleven years ago. Though I have a feeling she knew.
You are very lucky to have a supporting family. Cherish them & thank them for caring about your desires & needs every opportunity you have.
