This was from my introduction. I make no claim that my poetry is any good. I write it to help me work things out in my head. So, it is therapy of sorts.
So I am old and I am new
Cruel Fate she said the payment's due
of debts she'd rather not forget
A lifetime full of sad regret
I'm not finished despite my fears
I've paid you Fate a million tears
and anguished sobs - a broken heart
No Fate, not yet, you'll get your part
My life's account is in the black
My path is clear and right on track
and there's too much that I must do
You'll have to wait til I am through
So I have come and I have gone
To find myself a bright new dawn
on journeys over land and sea
to be the person I should be
Yes I am old
But I am new
Transition to me is about renewal. About uncharted territory. And the journey of a lifetime.
The poem is also a little bit of a double entendre. That's because I am both old and new in more than one sense. "Gabrielle" is my new name.
*hug* A lovely view of transition, Gabrielle. :)
Thank you. Hey! That was my 100th post too.
