As it suddenly became colder, today I ordered long boots for winter:
(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffarm8.staticflickr.com%2F7324%2F11046402586_3aaf70215e_o.jpg&hash=c58ace5d173434a7d4990b0ed1a5668d39ae7033)
The heel height is about 3 inch, but still looks higher. Another was 2 inch heel. Finally, I chose 3 inch, as it looked sexier.
I am going to wear this while traveling the northern part of my country in mid December when usually snow falls there.
I worried about athlete's foot, but fortunately it looks having a zip for ventilating and cleansing the sole.
I hope to post some photos when I wear them. It will be the first time wearing of long boots.

ooh very nice! I love long boots! Just below the knee like that is a definite favourite of mine.
Love them. Shame it's setting into summer now here.
I really want a pair!! Next year, when I'm living as FT as possible (probably everything but work?)
I have been buying boots like crazy lately - i love them! I bought a pair similar to yours yesterday Barbie.
I love long boots like related name high boots, tall boots, long black boots, thigh boots, knee high boots all fashions.
I'd love some long boots, but it I doubt I'd be able to find any that fit my feet. I have really, really wide feet, and it's been difficult to find shoes that fit my entire life.
Darn, every time I see this title of this thread I think it says "Long boobs", clearly Ive been reading too many posts about breasts and nipples! ;D

I love long boots, too. I'm sure you'll like them. They are perfect for skinny jeans or leggings, which I love to wear. Athlete's foot is a contagious fungus usually spread in school or club locker room showers. I haven't had it since college, but I suppose since you work at a university you're still exposed to it. If you can just bathe at home, you'll be over it eventually.

Now there's another one of my favorite things. If only they were as easy to get as a nice pair of boots (sigh).

Long time ago, I gave up long or big boobs.
My preoccupation now is eyes, legs and waist.

It will be delivered today.

Lyric,
Yes. Athletic foot of my feet already disappeared by anti-fungal creams.
We had snow yesterday, but it melted away immediately. Still, we can see white snow in the top of mountain.
Perfect time to wear long boots!

Yes. I hope so, Grace.
Actually, I was inspired by the lady in the photo from newspaper last year:

I tried to find a similar pair, and you can tell whether I made a correct choice.
barbie~~
I need a pair of these, along with some pants of the correct gender. Those can be problematic, unfortunately, since I found out I'm too large to tuck yet :(
Here it is not so much cold. Today afternoon, I went out with my little daughter. She complained that I look like a woman, but we visited a 'Believe or not' museum. We had some fun, and my daughter took some photos for me. She is 9 yr old, but good at using smartphone.

Those boots are perfect, Barbie. There's enough high heel to be nicely lady-ish but they've go the width of a cowboy-style for a more andro look if you want. I think your daughter did a fine job as a photographer, too.

Here in S. Korea, there are millions online shopping stores that sell all kinds of clothes and shoes at a various range of price. Sometimes the quality is not so good, but I could find some nice stuffs at reasonable price. The long boots costed about US$ 70, but most women here invest several hundred US$ for their winter boots.

Yeah. :) Though I'm sure they're probably just decorative and not anything like real horse-shoes lol.
Not keen on staying 'en-pointe' like a ballet dancer all day. Those horse-shoe things are ridiculous. I'm sticking to flats or up to an inch heal - don't need more at 6'1" and have a strong preference for comfort. That said I'm totally into tall boots and have a couple fancy pairs I'm rocking for winter right now.
I miss my old 4-inch heel boots, which I purchased at wal mart about 10 years ago. They were very comfortable to wear, and stylish. It costed just about US$20. But after 10 years, they were completely worn out.

:P I certainly understand that they might not be for everyone. I'm flat-footed though, and compensated early-on by walking on the front of my feet. Maybe not to such an extreme.. Still, I'm rather comfortable walking that way. Probably not good for my hamstrings or calves though.. >_>
I suspect wearing something like this would give observers the wrong impression. That is, unless you really want to tell the whole world about your horse role-playing fetish. :o It is a fetish-themed retailer after all. Amusing, certainly, but definitely not my thing. I'm not sure of it's availability to Koreans, but eBay has plenty of sellers who will ship internationally. Many American sellers may not have it set to do so, but if you send a message and ask they often will sell. I've been an eBay seller for years and shipped dozens of items all over the world with never any problem. Alas, I've never sold boots, though.

Anyway I ordered the following high heel bootie from a Korean online store where they purchased in lieu of me:
(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fecx.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F31-Xk-OvnGL._AA160_.jpg&hash=db7c4eb07fb4b248fd8d8366eecacf9c84f6fb3e)

The price is just US$22, but amazon.com suddenly stopped international delivery to Korea, and I paid ca. US$65 to the Korean store, including international delivery fee. Still, it is too expensive, as international delivery costs about $20-25. I will try ebay.com.
Several weeks ago, Korean media reported that prices of consumer products are far more expensive in S. Korea than the US or European countries, and many Korean consumers now directly purchase products from the U.S. For example, a new TV from Samsung is about US$4000 in Korea, but less than US$2000 including international delivery cost if I purchase from Amazon or other online stores in the U.S.
Growing number of Korean consumers now shop directly from the online stores in the U.S., and that is one reason why suddenly amazon.com stopped delivery to Korea (probably they pressed the National Tax Administration).

Where is the background? It looks like a kind of temple.
And you have the very nice hand bag.
Some online shoe stores here provided "Big Size", but usually the max. size is still about US women's 11. Fortunately mine is US women's 10.

I tried to find the dholic site and it seems like it might be a Japanese portal site for Korean fashions. It's certainly very popular here.
You can fine it here: http://m.dholic.co.jp (http://m.dholic.co.jp)
I love those stiletto boots, but I think I'd probably break my ankle in them :D
Joan,
Thanks for the link. I saw that most models there are Korean ladies. Those products are also available here in Korean stores, where most products are actually made in China, but some are Korean. I prefer products from stores in N. America, because of my height. Usually standard size 4 perfectly fits to my height and girth. The jacket I purchased a few days ago in the above photo looks short compared with the model.
Yes. My friends cautioned that too. In winter, wearing high heels are dangerous, but I will risk it any way for vanity.

Following the suggestion of Lyric, I ordered the following item from ebay.
It doesn't surprise me you found those cool boots on eBay, Barbie. I hope you like them. Since that seller is in England it may take quite awhile to receive them.
If you have any questions or problems with eBay, feel free to ask me. I'd have to say I qualify as something of an eBay expert. I can give a few quick buying tips now: If a seller's feedback rating is less than 97%, pass on them. It's good to click the seller's feedback number and see how long they have been selling. If it's less than 6 months, pass. Twelve months or more is best. Read some of the most recent feedbacks to check for recent issues.
I don't know UK womens sizes. I hope UK 3-8 converts to your size OK.
Oh, and for anyone who doesn't know this: To find out the best prices and item is selling for, click "Competed listings" on the left side of the eBay search page, then at the top sort by "Price+shipping lowest first". Don't buy for or bid more than the lower range of previous sales.

I'm a W11 but a W12 by width :( Very few places have W12 it seems (and wider sizes? HA)... hopefully my feet get a little narrower with HRT and more weight loss.
These are the boots I want:

:D I think it will be my first clothing stop in January... I've been trying to stay under $100 for girl stuff per month.
I picked these up at a second shop for 7 dollars. I wore them in the storm today.

Wow! Cindy, your area has a lot of snow and definitely you need long boots. They look perfect for the weather in your hometown.
In snowy day, you may need to fix the camera by a tripod or something to have a nice shot.
I also have a similar long jacket like yours.

Lyric,
I have received a message that they already shipped it. The delivery cost is far less expensive (ca. USD 20). I wanted to add another item to save the shipping charge, but it was too late. Next time, I will order 2-3 items together.
There are so many sexy and stylish shoes in e-bay at reasonable prices. This winter, I have already ordered 3 pairs of winter boots... I think it's enough now.
Anyway, thanks for your nice tips!

It's best not to order too much from a seller the first time, just in case. I like to do smaller test order before a big one to make sure there are no problems.

I went to the mainland, coming back today. I expected it would be very cold in the mainland, but it was not.
Anyway I wore the long boots and they were very comfortable. Probably stiletto long boots are not comfy to walk.
Some graduate girl students there commented on my new long boots.

There are far more diverse items in ebay, but the problem is that it is very addictive....
And, converting currency from GBP to US$ and then to KRW
And, converting UK 8 to US women's 10.5 to 265 mm
Anyway, I love Stiletto!
barbie~~
Yesterday I got the stiletto boots from England. The heel height is too much (14 cm = 5.5 inch), and they look like a toy. Although I can walk comfortably, I just worry that people might think I am a kind of whore. But the quality looks fine.
I am thinking wearing them when I visit Seoul next year. In Seoul, a lot of girls wear > 10 cm (4 inch) heels,
and I will not be so much noticeable. With that, my height looks like 184 + 14 cm = 198 cm (6'6"), and I don't know how people will react....

The other day was reading about former supermodel Elle Macpherson and looked up a lot of images of her online. I believe she and you are close to the same age. She is six feet tall, wears tall stilettos all the time and looks absolutely incredible. I make kind of a hobby of following celebrity fashions as a fun shortcut to ideas for my own wardrobe and Elle is a good one to keep up with. I think you'd fantastic in just about anything she wears.

The president of the research institute where I worked previously encouraged me to be a model in lieu of his institute after watching this photo in facebook. People are so much accepting in facebook, and it is a surprise to me.

Lyric. Oh, Thanks you.
She indeed inspires me. Her waist is slimmer than mine (25 vs. 27 inch), but other features are similar (except boobs). Strangely, my height recently increased by about 2 cm or about 0.75 inch. I do not know the reason, but I guess some change in my posture has made it.
I may try this type of boots too, but I already purchased too many boots this winter. But one more pair?

Anyway I ordered the following high heel bootie from a Korean online store where they purchased in lieu of me:

The price is just US$22, but amazon.com suddenly stopped international delivery to Korea, and I paid ca. US$65 to the Korean store, including international delivery fee. Still, it is too expensive, as international delivery costs about $20-25. I will try ebay.com.
I got those boots a few days ago, far belated than those ordered from e-bay.
4.75 inch heels are not a joke. To diagnose any potential problem I may encounter while walking in Seoul next week, I tried practicing with them while coming to my office. They were very tight, but I manged to put my feet in those small L-shaped caves. Driving with those heels at first was a little bit awkward, but soon it became fine. Walking is not comfortable, but I guess walking for 20-30 min will be fine.

I love the design of the shoes... but it is anyway challenging to wear them in public. I may need more practice...

3-inches, I hope.. If so they'll put me at 6-feet tall, but I wouldn't wanna go any higher..
Nice boots, Ashey. Those have to be well over 3", though. The soles alone have to be an inch.
I like those boots, Barbie. I've known lots of very short women who wear 5" heels every day to work and walk OK. You would think it would be easier for a taller (longer-footed) person to walk in taller heeled shoes than a short person. I watched a couple of videos on YouTube on high heel walking technique. You want to keep the back straight, chest up and belly in. Of course, anybody who has tried walking in heels knows it's best to walk putting the heel before toe. On softer surfaces it's better to walk more on the ball of the foot than the heel, too.

Lyric, thanks for the great tips! They will help prevent me from any injury from a fall.
I am thinking the ankle boots from payless shoes. That one is 4.25 inch heels with 1 inch platform, far easier to walk on. I want a pair for everyday, not for occasional events. For delivery, I am contacting one of my friends who is now staying at the states.

But there was none for my foot size. Should I order online?
I think I am too much obsessed with shoes nowadays.

Finally they were delivered home today. They are very comfortable to walk on. But the stiletto style makes me nervous when walking on slippery floor.

As Payless Shoes does not accept international credit card, nor do they deliver internationally, I found a site where they purchase and deliver on-line shopping items in lieu of me. Handling and delivery cost was ca. US$25, but the original price tag, $50, was already discounted to $20. I am satisfied with it.

Those look very sheik on you, Barbie. Just practice keeping your weight on the front of your feet and not the heels. When you wear high heels, you have to kind of think of yourself as a ballet dancer. ;)

Lyric, thanks for the tips of walking on heels. Yes. I am practicing it before going to the mainland.
Yesterday afternoon, I went to a skin-care clinic with the boots. Everybody there watched me. Aged women continued to study me, and did not avoid my eyes. One beautiful and young girl sitting in the waiting loom was just aghast to look up to me. The stiletto heels, combined with my height, attract too much attention, and I have better giving up wearing heels in my hometown.
My eldest son also noticed it at the door when I came back. He said like "Dad, you are already tall. Why do you need high heels?" I replied "You have to take care of you own math scores first instead of your dad's appearance."
barbie~~
It's too bad, but I guess we all have to make certain accommodations to society. I think the shoes look great, though, and I'm sure they make your legs look fantastic. You'll have to reserve them for special times like evenings out of town, I guess.
~ Lyric ~
While traveling the mainland for 2 days, I walked a lot with the boots. My big toes became sore. After coming back to my hometown, I changed the old ones with thicker heels. People said I look beautiful.
