Title: Help
Post by: Ravenna on November 29, 2013, 08:28:14 AM
Hey kitties
It's been a while since I've been on here
I came out to my mom and sister as gay like a month ago
My sister said she knew .. My mom is really uneducated about sexuality
But anyways.. I'm 19 now. Another year older.. I have no money for any transition appointments
With doctors or therapists.. I'm just sitting here on my bed daydreaming being a girl
Feeling a burning desire to switch gender as fast as I can.. Sorry if I'm melodramatic and theatrical lol
I have no one to talk to so I thought I'd post this sad sad post
Love u guys happy thanksgiving <3

Big hug and happy Thanksgiving back at ya! You're nineteen and you know exactly where you need to go. You're miles ahead of so many of us who never even heard the term transgender until much later in life. You have my promise that it will get better. Hugs, Devlyn

Hi Ravenna!

You're not being melodramatic at all! Your concerns are all too common and I'm glad you've taken the time to share. You can definitely have people to talk to here and I hope that this coming year is a happier one for you!  ;)

::HUGS::

Hey there!

Well I felt the same at 14. What I did was leave home and start working. Maybe leaving home was not the smartest thing ever, but working sure helps with getting everything out of dreamland and in reality! Today am starting it and need no family money, approval, or whatever for it! Then you can be free!

hey girl. sounds like your just passing time right now. a part time job could do wonders for you. save the money and in a few years you could have money for surgery as you already look fem :)
you could also look into seeing a therapist for free or discounted rate. if you ask the local psychiatric hospital they normally know who does that. and if not them then the local womans program

Hi Ravenna!

dont lose hope, you are so lucky to have this realization while you are young, I would like to offer that there are some places to get started that may be helpful that available for free, at least to get started with your therapy, planned parent hood out here has a program for therapy and some doctors that  do pro-bono if you qualify. you can check them out on line or get a list from social service agencies, anyway just a thought.
you are decades ahead of me my little sistah, keep the faith and take every day for what it has to offer to move forward

Transition need not take money. Sure if you want HRT or surgery, you'll need therapy, etc. But if you just want to be a girl, shave your body hair, stuff your bra, etc., and come out to the world, that doesn't cost much. It wouldn't be a perfect transition, but you could be yourself whenever you wanted. What in this life really is perfect?

I don't mean to put pressure on you to do anything you don't want to or aren't ready for - just pointing out an option. I know people who have done this and ended up very happy with their transition.

I don't mean to sound parental , but a job helps get the things you want. It gives you something to do so your not totally bummed out about not being what want to be.
