I've been ignoring everyone's advice the time I've been here and I've been straining my voice at high notes for years; I was frustrated that I couldn't sing at high notes. No progress, my range isn't even any stretchier, don't know if it's permanently damaged. So recently after a long hiatus I've tried doing work on my voice again, this time I'm doing it at a lower pitch with my chest as someone said a long time ago, which I know how to do now for some reason. >.< But being as impatient as I am I don't warm up, my voice got strained just now even though I'm (singing) at a lower pitch.
Oh I think I got the steps now, I'll give my voice a few weeks rest first (instead of the 2 days I gave it) talk instead of sing, and use a recorder and tweak it a little everyday. But I'm just wondering how others warm up thair voice to practice. I know in opera they have to warm up their voice. (it's a must apparently) Also is it okay to raise pitch just a little? There's some big voice pitch barrier in my throat that I want to get passed.
Oh, and will I ever be able to sing opera? >.<
