Title: Multi-probe Galvanic or blend?
Post by: Paige0000 on December 10, 2013, 05:05:31 PM
Hi everyone I'm having a bit of a dilemma in deciding between electrolysis practitioners and who would overall be best for me.

One uses the Blend method whilst the other uses the 16-32 multi probe galvanic method. Using the 32 probe method would cost the same as using the blend method with the other practitioner.

As the costs will overall be the same I'm thinking what method would be the best overall (Kill rate is more important to me than speed). I have a lot of coarse black hairs on my upper lip, chin and underjaw and many finer whitish hairs. Both practitioners said on average I will need 100 hrs of treatment.

What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure what blend is, is that laser and electrolysis? I'd tried laser but my beard is too lightly coloured. I'm using the 32 probe galvanic, three hour sessions every fortnight. A bit painful but not too bad (just make sure they use a numbing cream on your upper and lower lips about an hour before treating those areas). Having had about twelve hours now I'm sold on the method.

When if comes to Electrolysis these days good machines like I have offer galvanic, and AC current. From there you can choose to use one or both (which is Blend). I myself like to use blend which sends both the Gal and AC current through the probe to zap the hairs.

The difference is that using AC is much faster so when you go to a professional your going to find that they are going to use blend with a single needle otherwise it would take way too long.

Example for me. If I use a decent galvanic only zap it takes about eight seconds to zap the hair. With blend that uses both I can sap a hair in less than a second.

In my experience galvanic is slower but with a skilled electrologist there is less than 10 per cent re growth.   Blend feels like it's faster but there is a much higher rate of re growth.  If you are seeking permanent hair removal I would recommend galvanic.
