Title: Greetings!
Post by: aucoraborealis on December 19, 2013, 12:21:53 PM
For the sake of this forum, the name's Cora. I might shed some anonymity in a few months, we'll see. MTF, 26, and currently undertaking a "half-transition".

I have one trans friend. I signed up with the hopes of making more! I'm sure you all know what it's like when even those most supportive still don't get what you're going through. I'm a professional photographer, specializing in stylized portraits, so you'll likely find me hiding in the Hobbies > Photography section

:)

Hi Cora, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 8947 members. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmileys.on-my-web.com%2Frepository%2FAnimals%2Fferret-3.gif&hash=f49e2f86761323f2abd9c33941920389dbb3b10f)

Hay Cora!  And welcome to Susan's! ;D

'Cora' is such a beautiful name by the way, so good choice imho ;)

I'm still fairly new around here myself and I'm right at the start of my journey, but if your experience with Susan's is anything like mine has been so far, you'll find the gals and guys around here are loving and supportive, and are always willing to give help and information where they can :)

Hope to see ya around sister!

Thank you! And Kira, our names are quite similar! I'm quite often asked why I chose Cora, since it isn't even close to my male name. I just like how it sounds :)

Haha I know what you mean :P

I took Kira for three reasons: firstly the same reason as why you took your name (it just "sounds right", it just resonates internally unlike my male name, if you know what I mean?), secondly it was one of the two names that my parents were actually going to call me before they found out I was going to be "a boy" (mum was *COMPLETELY* convinced I was going to be a girl and had all pink clothes knitted for me and everything.. strangely prophetic, right? :P the other name was Sarah in case you're wondering :) ), and thirdly my birth name was 'Andrew' which means 'man' (the irony is not lost on me  ), so 'Kira' seems fitting because it means 'lady' :)

A Malibu and coke sounds amazing right now!

I'm changing my name in February and keep writing my new one by accident at work. Nothing embarrassing has come of that yet, but "the night is young" as they say.

Cora will be my middle name. I'm keeping my male first name, but changing the spelling, as I'll be adopting an androgynous lifestyle.

Is Kira pronounced Kai-rah, or Kee-rah?

I'm betting a shiny nickel on Kee-rah.

Lol it's Kee-rah, or similarly Ki-rah / Kir-rar or even Ki-RAWR! (basically the same as Cora but with an 'ih' instead of an 'or' ;) ) <333
