Hey girls I am planning on moving to northern nj in sept. 2014 . Any girls live around there ? Advise on areas , shops , doctor and ect?
I live in Northern, NJ (Hackensack area, Bergen County). Tons of shopping (Paramus has 3 malls, 4 if you count Hackensack.) I grew up in other parts of the country, but have been here here for 15 years and lived in the area on and on before that. For HRT, I'm using Callen-Lorde on Manhattan. There are Trans friendly electrologists in the area, but I find it cheaper in Manhattan.
It is a heavy populated area (over 900k for the county alone) (5 million if you include, Bergen, Passaic, Essex and Hudson County that make up Northern NJ that is part of the NYC Metro area). I would avoid Passaic County with the exception of Clifton (but Passaic county has higher auto insurance premiums). However most of Northern NJ (and NJ in general) is LGBT friendly.
Hey Sydney thanks for the information. The problem is I won't have a car so I have to rely on public transportation . I will be working at the riverside mall . So basically need to find a good safe area , where there is public transportation . Close to a gym , grocery shopping , stores and ect . I was thinking edgewater but don't know if that's a good idea or not. ? So my job is in hackensack and also good transportation to get into Manhattan
Public Transportation in NJ is good for getting to and from Manhattan. Getting around NJ itself isn't as convenient, but is doable. Right next to Riverside Square Mall there is an apartment complex (and Avalon property, so there is a gym on site) and in the other direction is a commuter train into Manhattan. (Both walkable.) Also a shopping center with Grocery store and other things are walkable. My brother lives in Edgewater and rent is higher there, but incredible views of Manhattan and ferry service into Manhattan. (There is also Light Rail to PATH trains that take you into Manhattan (more convenient for lower Manhattan.) Both areas are safe. Riverside Mall is the upscale mall in the area with a Saks Fifth Avenue, and other high end stores. Some great restaurants in that mall i might add.
Which exit will you be off of?
I'm originally from Jersey, so I'm allowed to make that joke. xD
