so the one that has bothering me a lot lately is the size of my feet, there 11 inches long and i can barely fit into a size 11 im just wondering if any other of you girls are in the same boat and how you deal with it, i want to buy good brands of shoes and not stripper shoes since they are the only one that go that big

I am not personally in that situation, but I have a few cis female friends who are. They find cute shoes at some of the discount shoe places. The ones that sell for warehouse prices seem to have a decent selection.

At 6'3" I'm really lucky to have fairly "petite" feet (only ten inches long and very narrow) - I see so many men, shorter than me, with much larger feet. Still, I need special larger women's sizes too. There are heaps of online shoe sellers specialising in larger shoes for women. In Australia I'm spoiled for choice and there's even a shop local to me that specialises in shoes for larger women's shoes. Presumably there must be plenty of options in North America, try Googling "large women's shoes" and your local state. Good luck shoe shopping! :D

I am right there with you.  I absolutely love shoes.com, though.  They might be expensive, but their selection is awesome.

With mismatched feet (my left has issues fitting into a 12, while my right fits comfortable into an 11) is really hard for me. You're not alone.
I use Payless. Decent selection in large sizes, good prices, but not always the best quality. I knew I'd have to make a sacrifice somewhere though, unless I wanted to pay over $100 for a decent pair of boots in my size. I got a nice pair for $30. Not the best quality, but they're shoes, they fit well enough, and they didn't cost a bomb

Are you on HRT? I started off pre-hormones at a 10.5-11, and now fit into 9.5-10s mostly. Also, Sears store brand shoes seem to run big; I'm about a size smaller in those than in most shoes, which would make a difference for you, since 11 is at the top of the "sometimes available in department stores" range but 10s generally are there.

Has anyone every looked at the feet of someone who they were reading as female and said "Wait a minute, those feet are slightly too large. I guess that must be a guy after all..."? Pretty sure that never happens.

Think u might be surprised then. It is unusual but it has been known to happen. And it might be simply be because of my large feet but i notice more people noticing

I wear US women's 10, UK 8 or 265 mm. In my country, most shoe stores do not keep my size, but I can order online. In the U.S., usually they keep up to US size 10. Recently I ordered UK 8 from England.

I saw a lot of sexy shoes of US Women's size 11 or even 13 in Payless shoes.

Oh yes, I can relate to this.  ;) I'm a sz. 13 men.  The million dollar question - where does a transwoman find shoes worth buying that don't look like hooker shoes or little-old-lady-in-a-nursing-home shoes?  (not that I have any problem with little old ladies in nursing homes)
I can sometimes wear a 12w in women's, but 13 is better.  As most of you know all too well...all decent selection in women's shoes stops at 10.  Notice I didn't say 'cute' because cute doesn't often apply after sz. 10. Yes, there's Payless, and they look ok, but the selection is fairly limited.  There's always color Converse Chuck Taylor, or Vans, (somewhat unisex) which are somewhat 'cute', but only work for certain occasions.

You'd think so wouldn't you?  ;)
Sorry to hear though that you need to find 15-16 size shoes... is it possible that will come down at least a size with weight loss/HRT, I'm a bit clueless on those things.

Really?  weight loss/HRT reduces foot size?   First time I heard that one.   :)
As far as size 15...if you actually wear a men's 13 and you're basing that on needing 2 sizes larger in women's (like most will tell you), that rule isn't always true at all.

I don't know about HRT, some people have claimed it happens for them. It didn't happen for me as far as I know.

I have read that weight loss won't necessarily shrink your size, but it often gives more narrow feet, depending on how overweight the individual is; if someone is obese or noticeably overweight, it isn't unheard of. Someone who is only 10-20 pounds overweight is likely not to notice any difference.

>_< I've been trying to order some ankle boots but most of the ones I liked only went up to size 8. And the one pair that went to size 12 was sold out. :'( I suppose I should be glad I'm not a size 13 anymore though. >_>

I've recently found this store for larger size shoes.

They don't go over 13, but they do have wide widths.

I've had success with 6pm.com.  I wear size 11 1/2 double wide, and I've managed to pick up a few pair over the past year or so that I like a lot.  Their selection for that size is somewhat limited, but they carry name brands and rotate stock regularly (I think it's Zappos overstock site).

Good luck in your search!

Wow, your feet are exactly like mine.  Right foot fits into an 11 well enough, but it's pretty tight on the left.  Drives me crazy since 11 is as big as you will find without going to specialty stores (or the internet).

Speaking of internet, I have found that Zappos, has some cute ladies shoes in larger sizes. http://www.zappos.com/womens-shoes (http://www.zappos.com/womens-shoes)

Yes.  Payless is the place to mail order for larger sizes, even though the selection in my size (13W) is really pretty limited.  I mail order and have them shipped to a store for pick up.  Got a nice pair of slouch boots for $29 a couple weeks ago.  And in size 11 and 12 you get a fairly good selection.  They have lots of styles in these sizes including sneakers, flats, and low heal sandals.  You may not like them but look them up online.

fortunately my feet are size 8 UK which means just on the edge of the normal range in most shops, although over here on mainland Europe this is still within the normal range. But did have a friend who was cis female who had size 12 UK which caused her lots of problems trying to get decent shoes.
Some of the larger stores or big supermarkets sell larger sizes. It can be difficult finding stylish shoes in larger sizes though.

While on the subject of HRT, I too have experienced foot shrinkage. I'm from Britain and started off on HRT with size 8.5 (American 11). I was very unhappy at the time, but after a couple of years I noticed I was able to get into smaller shoes. I am now wearing British size 7 (American 9.5) and can occasionally get into British 6.5 (American 9) in some shoes without discomfort.

I know it is annoying to have feet you consider to be too big, but my daughter-in-law has bigger feet than me. Women generally are getting taller and now have bigger feet.

Kiaraja, you're a beautiful woman, and I know that doesn't change the size of your feet, but guys will be looking at your pretty face far more than they ever will at your feet. I read on another, somewhat similar site as Susan's when I first started that some women's feet shrank after being on HRT for awhile. I thought it was a joke, but mine did, going from an 11 to a 10. I also lost 66 lbs., though, so I don't know if it was the weight loss, the hormones or both. I do know this, Payless has some very stylish shoes, and where I live so does Burlington. I've seen some gorgeous shoes on the internet. You can find them if you look hard enough. I think it's disgusting that some of the shoes size 9 and above look like something we'd see on RuPaul's, or a drag show, but along with large shoe sizes, the person walking on those feet would be 6' 7" with those platform prostitute shoes. It's one more symptom that we're sometimes looked at as a joke, a punchline or a reality show instead of living, breathing women with normal wants and needs. The last thing I want to do is to stand out. I just want to fit in, that's all. I'm too tired and old to try to change the world. Probably just like you ladies.

ya a size and a half is amazing, was it reduced by length or width tho, i would understand width but not length reducing because of muscle reduction and fat pad reduction from the reduced weight

Favorite places to shop for shoes : Torrid, Avenue, Payless....

I hate going to Macy's and seeing something CHIC and all they go up to is a 9.5 or 10....

Both my feet and height have shrunk pre-hrt... Not sure why but I guess it can happen? My shoe-size in men's was 11, now it's at least 10. My feet slide in an 11, and they didn't used to, so length must have been reduced. Weird stuff. o_O Hope HRT gets me down a bit more lol.

i was thinking about that but i thought it only worked in prevention of foot growth in the puberty stages?

and i have been seeing a consensus towards payless lol, well i just ordered some new shoes from aldo that are supposed to be about 5/16's larger than the shoes i have that are barely fitting so that might help but there on the end of name brand shoe sizes, i am just hoping for some shrinkage(lol dirty mind)

I get my shoes from Zappo's online. I just bought a cute pair of Puma's black with pink accents size 10 womans narrow. I have always had feminine feet & legs even pre hrt. And equally as lucky since I bought my current home 5 years ago and decided it was time for me to be happy and accept who I am being female and living as a woman my foot size (in womans shoes) has actually gone down 1/2 size cuz I used to wear a 10 & 1/2 womans narrow. I can't wait to see what happens after 2 years of hrt.

My advice to you gals who are worried about your feet being too big is don't be. This isn't the 1920's and all women today have gotten taller and equally wear larger shoe sizes.

To the girl thinking of staging a carpenders accent, -bad idea cuz people would really notice your feet if they were abnormal such as, well, ... toeless, lol!

Sorry I intended that it to be kind of facetious because they were talking about cutting off toes, and I was saying that it would be less painful to bind them. But on another note there are actually stretches that you can do for your arches that can "shorten" your foot, but because the stretches are to improve your arches you have to make sure once you start doing them that you get shoes with good arch support to keep them from falling again. It is not a very big change most of the time though, like maybe half a size.

Where can I find more information on these stretches for your arches. When I had my aircraft accident in 91 I broke both my feet and since then I have much flatter feet than I used to. Not completely flat but I used to have good arches. If there's something I can do about this to improve it I'd like to give it a try.

I buy most of my shoes from www.longtallsally.com (http://www.longtallsally.com) there are other sites that cater to big feet such as http://www.barefoottess.com/ (http://www.barefoottess.com/) and to custom make your shoes check out http://www.shoesofprey.com/ (http://www.shoesofprey.com/)

I'm at size 13-13.5 or wide US women's size 12-12.5 US men's size.

I'm not put off by the size of my feet. I'm just frustrated like many of you about what tends to be available in our size. Stripper shoes or $100+ shoes.  >:(

I had trouble as a guy finding shoes in my size now as a woman it's like quest for a lost artifact.

Where can I find more information on these stretches for your arches. When I had my aircraft accident in 91 I broke both my feet and since then I have much flatter feet than I used to. Not completely flat but I used to have good arches. If there's something I can do about this to improve it I'd like to give it a try.

Well I'm definitely not an expert on this or anything but, I find that dance site tend to have the best information about this, http://dancenerds.blogspot.com/2010/04/dos-and-donts-to-improve-your-arch.html is one site that has some tips, the only problem is they use a lot of dance jargon, so if you don't mind a little reading then these sites can be helpful. As far as examples of specific stretches http://www.livestrong.com/article/405818-stretches-for-collapsed-arches/ has some. Obviously you can search google and find all kinds of stretches to do. Just be careful, because you broke your feet you may have permanent damage that could make the stretches painful if not dangerous. With all that said the easiest way to help your arches is to just make sure your shoes have good arch support, which I know when I look for shoes that's not the first thing I look for, because I know most cute shoes don't have great arch support, but you can always buy an insert to help, and then that brings it right back to the original problem because if you want to put inserts in they take up space so yea... but anyway sorry if I don't make to much sense you can message me if you need some clarification.

My wife is XX and wears a 13 at 5'11".   I think I have way bigger fish to fry than to worry about my feet.  I'm actually sort of glad mine are the same size.  ;D

I posted a topic on the Androgyne board last year about really wanting these Doc Martens

They just don't make them in my size, but they do make the same boot with different inner lining and laces for men.  Laces I could replace - lining?  No such luck.  >:(

The thing is, each one of us is going to have something which they really wish they could get rid of.

I'm lucky in that I only have UK size 7 feet but to make up for that I'm 6"0 and have pretty broad shoulders. You just have to work with what you've got and remember to never take yourself too seriously.

Judging by your profile picture, I'd say people are going to be more drawn to your pretty face than your slightly larger than average shoe size!

xx
