Had a name change before 17 years old. So there are no existing creditors to update. Would I just apply for credit and hope the name goes through? Any advice on who to contact if I start getting turned down and have no credit report to even access?
First, Welcome to Susan's.
As to credit, just apply. If you are turned down you can get a copy of the credit report for free. See what it says and adjust from there. No credit can actually be worse than bad credit.
Hi,
Shouldn't be a problem, they may need proof of identity , driving licence etc. But remember many woman change their name at marriage, it isn't that unusual
