Title: Little Lump under skin where pellets are?
Post by: Paige0000 on December 29, 2013, 01:28:52 PM
Hey everyone ive been curious about this for awhile. I had my last pellet implant a month ago and experience minor bruising and pressure pain. That lasted a couple weeks but ive also noticed when i feel the area i feel a little lump under the skin. Is this normal? I cant recall notcing a lump with my first implant but i have had progestrone pellets added this time.

Could be it's a bigger pellet? I've noticed a very tiny bump where my E pellet is. It was bruised for almost three weeks around the site after insertion.

I had pellet implants some time back, they would be inserted on one side of the butt and I'd get a lump that would eventually go away, last time though it got extremely sore and erupted through the skin and not through the point of entry either. It turned out that my body rejects pellets which is a shame, because it's such an excellent delivery system.

I just had my first insertion back in January and had the lump feeling for sometime between 1-2 weeks.
When I go back for the next, in April,  I'll do an edit on this post to see if its similar.  If it's the same then I believe its probably normal.

Oh, one thing I just remembered my Endo telling me.  He only does 1/2 a pellet of progesterone because there have been so many patients who's body's reject the entire pill (aka the Manufacturer needs to make their pill in at a lower potency). This may be your problem.

Have a great day!

Hi Paige,

Quite normal to feel that lump. In time (months) it will disappear.

Those experiencing rejection is often a mix of Oestrogen and Progesterone in the one site. Better to have individual sites for each.
