So any other vets here?
US Army Second Infantry, Long Range Recon. Enlisted on my 18th birthday, TOD ended one year ago march 2014. Retired at First Sargent.
Last deployment was Northern Afghanistan Providences.
There are a bunch of us on here. Check out the roll call thread.
Currently still in the Army in the process of a med board. Only overseas tour I did was a year in South Korea.

Thanks. I was aimed center mast but because of bullet spin, range, and an updraft it ended up becoming a "red mist" shot after my sniper had taken a round to the shoulder and couldn't shoot any more. He was med lifted out and lived....

The Seconds SS guys say it better....read my signature lol
I was thinking of enlisting into the Australian Army. Was sorta part way through (Initial interview and job placement) but I haven't done any more. TBH, I dont know if adding to whatever it is I could end up doing to my wife. Do have a decent job opportunity somewhere else I might peruse instead.

My opinion it was worth it. I have 16.5 acres, my Ram 3500, the ability to defend myself in many different situations. Yes i suffer from PTSD and fireworks occasionally cause flash backs (only if i can't see them), have had 4 concussions, and can't put what i did in the military on a job application because 85% of it was classified, but i learned a level of discipline that can't be matched anywhere.
In the end, would i do it again...YES!!
